Familiar Faces Fill New Roles in the Senate Republican Office

(Salem) - Monday found familiar faces moving to new roles in the Senate Republican Office. Jonathan Thompson was named Legislative Director and Crystal Snell has been hired as Communications and Member Services Coordinator. `These moves have made the finest staff in the Capitol even better," stated Senate Republican Leader Ted Ferrioli (R-John Day). `The Senate Republican Caucus will be well served by both of these individuals." Both Snell and Thompson have prior experience in the Capitol. For the past 15 months Thompson has served as Communications and Member Services Director for the Senate Republicans. During the 2005 Legislative Session Snell was Chief of Staff to Senator Jeff Kruse (R-Roseburg). `I look forward to the challenges presented by this new role," Thompson said. `It is an honor to work for such a dedicated group of lawmakers." `I am very excited for this opportunity to serve the Senate and the people of Oregon" Snell said. `I also look forward to assisting the Caucus is resolving the problems facing Oregonians today". Thompson is a native Oregonian who holds a bachelor`s degree from Willamette University. Prior to joining the Senate Republican Office in 2004 he worked in the biotechnology industry. Snell attended Oregon State University and earned a bachelor`s degree in Communications from Portland State University. In addition to working for Senator Kruse she has worked for one of Oregon`s premier political consulting and communications firms as well as the Oregon Restaurant Association. Before entering politics she worked for MTV.
