(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Bradbury Campaign announced today that they raised over $100,000 in the past month. The campaign now has over $100,000 in cash on hand and has raised over $305,000 to date. “We set a goal of raising $100,000 between February 1st and today and I am proud to say we met that goal,” said Bradbury campaign manager Jeremy Wright. Bradbury Fundraising Director, Emily Rose Williams went on to highlight the large number of unique contributors to the campaign, “We now have over 1250 contributors to the campaign. To put that number in context at the first of the year we had 728 contributors. Picking up over 525 new financial supporters in less than two months is remarkable momentum.” That momentum has picked up significantly in the last week. In the last 7 days the Bradbury Campaign has raised over $60,000 and over $25,000 in the past 48 hours. The vast majority of contributions have been from individuals giving $10, $20, or $50. In fact, of the $100,000 raised in February, 65% came from contributions of less than $100. By contrast the Kitzhaber campaign continues to rely on large checks from established interests to fund its efforts: 83% percent of Kitzhaber’s contributions are from donors of $1000 or more and 52% of his funds have come from donors of $5000 or more. In fact, 43% of all of John Kitzhaber’s campaign funds come from PAC’s or Business Interests. “Our campaign is different. People are giving what they can in an incredible tough economy because they understand that Bill Bradbury is THE Democrat in this race who will energize the party and the state. They are joining this movement to reject the post-partisan centrism that Governor Kitzhaber is running on. Democrats in Oregon are looking at Washington D.C. and seeing what Governor Kitzhaber’s approach will get you. They want no part of that here in Oregon, and that is why you see the momentum and money moving towards Bradbury.” Wright concluded. It's too bad Bradbury doesn't have more experience in an executive position. His close ties to Al Gore and the global warming scam is going to keep him from winning in November, even if he does win the democratic primary.

I hope Wright is right (about that last comment). Something about that Kitzhaber kat just screams "politics as usual". Bradbury seems to have more concern for the people -- not just corporations, PACs and other "business interests".
