(JAFFNA LankaSri News) - Tamil National Alliance began its protest against land grabbing of Tamil people in Northern Province. In the earlier occasion protesters received various threats from military personnel, police and government intelligence unit members. This protest begun at 10:00 a.m. in front of Thirumurukadi Pilliayar kovil compound. Hundreds of people present at this protest. During the time of protest protesters raise voice such as: "We urge our rights, we continue till the end", "Since three years end of war Army remains in our lands", "we lead refuge life in our own soil", and several other slogans at the protest. In order to avoid the protest many military, police and intelligence unit members deployed at the Kovil premises. It was also revealed that military personnel, police officials and intelligence unit members had made various threats against kovil administrators, they also warned that they would take legal action against them. Tamil National Alliance parliamentarians Mawai Senathiraja, M.A.Sumandiran,C.Sridharan,E.Sarawanabawan,Sivasakthi Anandan, Selvam Adaikalanathan, TNA former parliamentarians M.K.Sivajilingam,S.Kajendran,Tamilar Viduthalai Koottany member V.Anandasangaree and Democratic National Alliance leader Mano Ganesan was also present at this protest. Tamil National Alliance staged the special protest against land grabbing and Sinhala resettlement at Thirumurukandi area this morning. This protest began at 10.00 am. Parliamentarians from Tamil National Alliance, Tamil National People’s Front, Upcountry People’s Front and members from various political parties were also present at this protest. Protesters questioned the situation of people attacked by the military personnel at Thirumurukandi area yesterday. Protesters raised slogans such as “Respect our self determination”, “Don’t violate human rights”, and “An independent entity”. However Army and police did not cause any disturbances for this protest. Many police and military personals deployed at the Kovil compound. Next protest against land grabbing schedule to held at Mannar and Batticaloa districts.
