1994 Cold Case Suspect to be Arrainged

(PORTLAND OR) - 37-year-old Marvin Lee Lambert will be arraigned on murder charges Monday in Multnomah County Court. Lambert was trans ferred to the Multnomah County Jail on June 21, 2013, from Federal custody.

On May 24, 2013, a Multnomah County Grand Jury indicted 37-year-old Marvin Lee Lambert on one count of Murder and one count of Felony Murder for the 1994 shooting of 26-year-old Brian Hill.

The Portland Police Bureau's Cold Case Homicide Unit began investigating this case in 2010 and continued actively working the case for the next three years.

Brian Hill was 26 years old when he was shot in the driveway of his residence on May 19, 1994 at approximately 10:13 p.m.

Mr. Hill lived at 6435 North Gay Avenue with his girlfriend and two children and had just stepped outside the door of his residence when he was shot. Mr. Hill's girlfriend and two children were inside the residence when he was shot and immediately ran outside to help him. Mr. Hill's neighbors also tried to provide assistance to him when they heard the gunshots in their neighborhood.

Mr. Hill was immediately taken to Emanuel Hospital for treatment to his life-threatening injuries. Mr. Hill died from the injuries sustained from the shooting on June 16, 1994.

The Cold Case Homicide Unit worked closely with the Oregon State Crime Laboratory and the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office on this case.

Marvin Lambert is currently in Federal custody and will be arraigned on these charges in the upcoming weeks.

Mr. Hill's family is thankful for the work done by Cold Case Homicide investigators and requests privacy at this time.

The Cold Case Homicide Unit reviews unsolved murders in the Portland area and since its inception in 2004 has reviewed approximately 250 homicide case and solved 40.

The Portland Police Bureau Cold Case Homicide Unit is comprised of a Sergeant and three Detectives who are assisted by several retired investigators who volunteer their time to assist in solving cases.

The Portland Police Bureau Cold Case Homicide Unit has a close partnership with the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office and the Oregon State Police Crime Lab.

The Portland Police Bureau Cold Case Homicide Unit's slogan is: "We don't give up. We never give up."
