(PORTLAND, Ore.) - On Friday, June 11, 2010, the following statement was given by Kyron's stepfather at a 1:00 p.m. media briefing at the Brookhill Historical Church across from Skyline Elementary School. A written statement also made by Kyron's stepfather is not available for this release:

"Hello, my name is Tony Young, and I am Kyron's step-father. The family has asked me to speak on their behalf.

Kyron – we miss you. We love you. We want and need you home.

We are doing everything we can to work with law enforcement and the search and rescue crews to make sure you can get back to us as soon as possible.

We want to say how much we appreciate the outpouring of love and support – prayers and thoughts – as we wait for you. Your school friends and their families, the teachers and staff at your school, and the community as a whole have shown how much impact one little boy's smile can have.

You mean everything to us, and until you come home, our family is not complete.

Please Kyron – keep up the hope. We believe in you and we know you will be back with us soon."

Kyron was missing after his stepmother sent him and watched him walking to his class but the teacher marked his attendance as absent so I wonder if the teacher saw Kyron's project. If she did wouldn't she think that its suspicios that the project was there but the person is not there?

I completely agree. If that were my child, I would not "hit the gym" or even stay home as the police have recommended this boy's family do. I would be scouring every inch of that school.

Something is so wrong with this. You don't just go missing. Detectives need to start over and start with the last person he was physically with. Also, who did see him at the school?? I can't seem to find where that was ever confirmed

How well has the school been searched? He was last seen inside the school. He may still be there. Remember the grad student that went missing from her lab awhile back? She was found in a crawl space between walls. Kyron is 7. He's small. He'd fit in many spaces where adults wouldn't think to look. Adults may not even know the spaces are there. (Like no one knew there was a crawl space between the walls in that girl's lab.) If he were my son, I'd tear the walls apart with my bare hands.
