(BEAVERTON, Ore. ) - Two women remain behind bars today, after police said they were sex trafficking a 17-year-old girl.

Police arrested 23-year-old Erica Dana Lummus, of Molalla, and 24-year-old Italia Angelique Porter, of Vancouver, Washington in connection with an investigation that started at a Beaverton Motel on May 23.

Beaverton police detectives contacted Lummus when she arrived at the motel to engage in prostitution, and the 17-year-old victim was with her at the motel, Beaverton police spokesman Jeremy Shaw said.

Shaw says evidence and statements made at the scene led them to believe Lummus and Porter had been sex trafficking the girl, who had a protective custody warrant out of Bakersfield, California.

She had been missing since January.

Lummus and Porter have been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges including sex trafficking of a minor and transporting a minor for prostitution.
