(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Washington County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 19-year old female from the Bethany area of unincorporated Washington County. She is reported to be developmentally delayed. Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, says this morning at 7:44 AM, Washington County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a residence in Bethany area concerning the report of a missing person. Hillary Smith was reported missing by her parents. Ms. Smith lives with her parents and uses TriMet and MAX as her primary means of transportation. Ray said, "Ms. Smith's parents see her every day. When Ms. Smith did not come home last night, her parents became very concerned and called the Washington County Sheriff's Office for help. It is very much out of the ordinary for Ms. Smith to be out overnight." At this point in the investigation, he says there does not appear to be any sign of foul play. He says multiple deputies immediately responded to the area and began the investigation. The deputy on the scene began relaying important information to the other units who were diligently searching for Ms. Smith. A bulletin was sent to all law enforcement agencies in the area including TriMet in an attempt to locate Ms. Smith. Deputies and family members are especially concerned for her safety because she may be vulnerable due to being developmentally delayed functioning as a 10 year-old. Ms. Smith is described as having light colored skin, she stands about 6'1" tall, has a large build weighing about 220 pounds, she has long red colored hair, green eyes, and she should be wearing glasses. She was last seen wearing blue shorts and a red shirt with white Nike shoes. The Washington County Sheriff's Detectives and Deputies are continuing with the investigation to bring Ms. Smith home safely. Anyone with any information concerning Hillary Smith is asked to immediately call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-629-0111.
