(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - A man was stabbed on the Clackamas River near High Rocks at around 5:00 PM. "The stabbing occurred over an argument," says Sergeant Lee Eby with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. "With both parties being intoxicated." He says the suspect fled the scene after stabbing 24-year old Jason Bills of Milwaukie. Eby says several agencies responded on the report of the stabbing, "The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Gladstone Police Department, and Oregon City Police Department began canvassing the area. Even with a quick response the suspect was able to elude police detection due to the high traffic in the river area." The suspect in the stabbing was described as a white male, six foot tall and bald. Investigations were unable to identify the suspect in the incident. Then the victim himself turned up on the police wanted list. "As investigations continued it was determined that Jason Bills had a warrant for a Probation Violation." Bills was taken to Willamette Falls Hospital where he received 19 stitches for his injuries. "In a strange turn of events" Eby said, "the victim was then taken to the Clackamas County Jail and lodged on a probation violation for an original charge of Assault 4." Investigators encourage anyone with information concerning the suspect of the incident to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
