Jesse Kelly's Three Round Burst

(SALEM, Ore.) - Are we done with dangerous politicians and media pundits yet? Is it not illegal for Beck, Palin and others to call for violence and then watch it happen?

All of my real feelings aside, there are some particularly dangerous trolls on the American landscape and if you don't believe me, maybe you will believe a disabled American Veteran named Eric Fuller who was shot the same day that alleged gunman Jared Loughner opened fire, killing Gabe Zimmerman, Judge John Roll, Christina Taylor-Green, Dorwan Stoddard, Dorothy Morris and Phyllis Schneck.

Fuller was shot twice. A total of twenty people were shot. Loughner was said to have been reloading when a woman knocked the clip from his hands and two men took him down. What on earth would cause a person to commit such a heinous and vile act?

The bitter divisive hateful politics of right wing spokesman Glenn Beck are under a microscope right now and they should be. His rants border on demented. Sometimes he seems utterly confused about what he is trying to say, and he loves to stir emotions by using the words "Nazi" and "Holocaust" as if he has no understanding of what they mean.

Eric Fuller said, "It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target."

There seems to be little doubt that the various GOP politicians encouraged an act of violence. If somehow this were coincidental, then that is a coincidence.

Fuller's words underscore the point: "Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled Senseless hatred leading to Murder, lunatic fringe anarchism subscribed to by John Boehner; mainstream rebels with vengeance for all, even nine-year old girls."

But the problems accompanying this tragedy are not all on the minds of the American public. One person who hasn't had a lot of play yet deserves ample amounts, is the man who ran against Gabby Giffords in the last election; an Iraq War Marine veteran named Jesse Kelly.

"Jesse Kelly ran against her in the election, and I've heard him speak a couple of times, and I couldn't believe he was a real candidate. It was like he was like a fake candidate, I didn't think anyone would take him seriously. He came within 4000 votes of winning the election," Fuller said.

One slogan he'll always be remembered for is "Shoot a fully automatic M-16 with Jesse Kelly".

I think Kelly in reality, is like the M-16 he carried in Iraq; limited to a three round burst.

Round one: Profit from Participating in an illegal unjustified war..

Round two: encourage violence against an elected American official.

Round three: watch the the people fall.

Kelly's beloved M-16 doesn't fire as an automatic weapon these days; like Kelly it is limited. I don't discount the possibility that he had an older M-16 a1 or a3 that fires on auto; we had the a1 when I was a Marine but they were phased out by the early 90's. The notion of a three-round burst is a statement about a lack of trust in US combat forces. That is reality.

An article published 10 January 2011 titled Will Jesse Kelly replace Giffords? states:

"Jesse Kelly was already considering another run in two years against Giffords, a race that came down to less than two points difference in the end."

So at this point, the events that took place have apparently not swayed Kelly from his political aspirations. He seems to lack the understanding that his message to the public was a serious mistake.

For his part, Kelly stated via his Website:

"In the wake of this stunning tragedy, my prayers are with Rep. Giffords, her husband Mark and the rest of her family. May God's strength comfort her as we pray together for her recovery. We mourn for those who lost their lives in this horrible act."

Kelly added: "Senseless acts of violence such as this have absolutely no place in American politics."

No, they don't, and neither does a direct or even an indirect call for violence fit into this landscape. I hope this veteran considers the magnitude of his actions. It is time to reign in the madness.

Regarding Congresswoman Giffords, Fuller said, "I would rather she was busy doing her job today rather than laying in a hospital with a gunshot wound to the head."

Fuller asks, "How many other people, how many other demented people are out there?

I ask, "Did a madman really execute people in this specific manner without influence from far above?"

Large groups go after rap music and video games for their promotion of violence, but when desperate Republicans do it we're overwhelmed with excuses of why it is not true. I believe that is a deadly double standard.
