(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com is pleased to announce our new talk radio show that began Tuesday night and continues Wednesday. This first show was an experimental program but we received one call in and at least one more that we missed. We are very pleased to introduce this new side of Salem-News.com and we look forward to input on how to make it even better. The idea has been on the table for a long time and we have featured audio clips at different times over the last three and a half years, but this is different, this is actual live radio over the Internet. Technology is moving at record setting speed and the implementation of a new service from blogtalkradio.com makes this new service possible. Salem-News.com's Cody Sheets connected the dots and asked if we could launch the program right away and see how it goes. We thought that sounded reasonable, so Tuesday at 9:00 PM pacific time we launched the first ever edition of Salem-News Talk Radio and we'll be there live again tonight. The show begins at 9:00 PM, the icon below should become active at that time. We will provide more information on air. The number to call when we are live is 347 324-3961. Here is an archive of our first episode, recorded live Tuesday, January 22nd 2008. The icon should go live at 9:00 PM with show tonight, if not here is a link to the radio program from Salem-News.com that includes a chat room. Great starter-shot on this one..."broke in" myself via WAGM, Wonderful Aroostook Garden of Maine a.m./er 'way back in '34...guested on Dad's political-talk program. Radio is closer and much more personal for many than best of tv, so believe this one can strike a blow here very neatly, and nicely, while bringing strengths of honest dialog to many more. "Go it, friends !" applies here, too, and I hope we hear people tell it like it really is, for all of us...

Is that a local or long-distance number? Also, if you know a couple of days ahead of time, that would be helpful to announce. Thanks and good luck! Tim to Teri: Yes it is long distance but you can send a question in through the comments or email us. If you have a cell with free long distance or nights maybe that would work?
