Jan-14-2011 01:44TweetFollow @OregonNews Boomers 2011: Welcome to the Real WorldDr. Phil Leveque Salem-News.comIt appears that you Boomers were too busy trying to make a living that you could not perceive what the financial “Institutions” were doing to us.
(MOLALLA, Ore.) - There are not too many Americans who can remember the Crash of 1929. I do, I was 6-years old at the time and selling newspapers in a logging and sawmill town; Klamath Falls, Oregon's bustling 'red light district' (pun) which up to that time was producing lumber like crazy to supply the post WWI building boom. Everybody was making money hand over fist and everybody’s hopes were sky high. All of the sudden the bottom dropped out. This was not like the present fiasco which seemed to sneak up on us and gradually became worse and worse and is still getting worse. I previously posted:
With the Baby Boomers of post WWII reaching retirement at 65 what do they have to expect. Simply put not much good. The Crash of ’29 caused mass malnourishment and even starvation. We had veterans of WWI on bonus marches and encampments at Congress in Washington, D.C. where their camps were brutally destroyed and the war veterans run out of town by the active Army. Then the Dust Bowl drought hit us in the Midwest and South West and farms were destroyed. The banks took over the farms and millions were completely destitute and millions of “Okies” and “Arkies” moved to the West Coast or anyplace else they could earn a living. The result of this financial depression produced a scarcely believable result. When WWII started about 30% of depression baby draftees were found to be physically unable to be in the military for a variety of reasons connected to malnutrition and financial destitution. To the present Boomers, the financial situations are similar. Your parents, 1929 depression survivors, were called The Greatest Generation. We fought an ugly onerous war which scarred most of us physically and psychologically but we destroyed one of the world’s worst despots – Hitler and Germany and we came home to sire you Boomers and produce a meaningful middle class. Now this Recession is destroying you and the rest of the middle class. Millions of you lost your jobs and many will never be rehired. About 10 million homes are in foreclosure and many will never be bought again. Another 20% may fail again this year. You are eligible for Social Security and Medicare. The veteran doctors and health care workers are about to retire also and there has been little done about training more doctors et cetera. The VA medical system is in chaos with more and more military veterans showing up and facing waiting periods of months to be seen and get care. It appears that you Boomers were too busy trying to make a living that you could not perceive what the financial “Institutions” were doing to us. Other financially powerful countries like China and the Arab world have been able to take advantage of us. HOLD ONTO YOUR SOCKS BOOMERS
YOU’RE ABOUT TO HIT THE WALL!!
