(CORVALLIS) - Police in Corvallis say they used a taser on a 49-year old transient named Rodney Quinn Friday after he committed several traffic violations. Quinn was stopped at NW Jackson Avenue and NW 10th Street Friday just after 10:00 AM. Police say the incident began when Quinn was pulled over Friday morning. It is reported that he crawled out of his pickup window and began aggressively yelling, "Are you a homosexual?" and other statements at the officer. The officer says Quinn then walked toward him while yelling and refusing orders to stay back. The Corvallis officer says this prompted him to point his Taser at Quinn and order him to stop. But he says Quinn continued to advance in a threatening manner, leading the officer to believe he was about to be physically attacked. The officer says he defended himself by using the Taser on Quinn, which immediately stopped his attack. Members of a nearby fraternity witnessed the incident and described Quinn as clearly going after the officer and failing to obey orders. Quinn was logged in the Benton County Jail and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Interfering with a Police Officer, Second Degree Intimidation, and Attempted Assault on a Public Safety Officer. Not too sure on the point of this story. Other than another incident in C-town. But, good job journalists.

Al et al: Suggest Senseo simpler, less costly, cleaner and, for most especially, cheaper... Taser just too-tough for the family-use you suggest.

I wish every American had a Taser. This way 10 times a day and 100 times on Sundays you can Taser anyone that gets on your nerves.....even your kids if they don't come to the dinner table on time. That's it... just Taser everyone. What a world! Taser the Pastor if you don't like the sermon. Taser yourself. Maybe it works like shock therapy and will put you in a better mood. Ich meinen wirklich!
