To all: The community college concept has been proven in depth, diversity, detail and dedication, across the nation. In Oregon we owe great gratitude to Dr. Amo DeBernardis, longtime national leader in creation of the concept and in practical ways to make it work as it should directly for the student, at all levels. Portland Community College, his laboratory and proven-success, has led this whole movement in many ways. We should celebrate and surely support via strong funding every possible further development of this strong and proven concept, worthy of 21st Century needs that can best be supplied by that action.
