Oregon Attempting to Criminalize Twitter?

State legislators take a shot at freedom of speech.

slavery
Salem-News.com

(SALEM) - It's no secret that Twitter and other social media has helped launch things like the Arab Spring and Occupy Wall Street. Now Oregon Senator Jackie Winters and others want to have people arrested for using this high technology when officials deem their activity is encouraging "civil disobedience".

Civil disobedience has brought tyrants to their knees, buckled evil regimes and in the United States, it is largely responsible for ushering in the Civil Rights legislation that allows equal rights for African-Americans and others who were persecuted under Jim Crow laws and lingering tools of political prejudice used against the populace by the government.

Oregon's Senate Bill 1534- being debated today, would criminalize what they call, "aggravated solicitation applicable to use of electronic communication to solicit two or more persons to commit specific crime at specific time and location."

The following is from http://pastebin.com/i5cGvwU0

The 76th Oregon Legislative Assembly's Senate Bill 1534 would make it a felony for one to direct others over twitter or other social media to participate in civil disobedience, even if it cannot be proved that the directions were followed.

This would be a felony in Oregon: https://twitter.com/#!/Re_Occupy/status/165278347071463426

To many this is simply the latest attempt to strip essential rights away from Americans. As we have detailed in many reports, Oregon has very serious issues when it comes to understanding and enforcing Civil Rights, and seems to have more interest as a government in retaliating against whistle blowers, than responding to their allegations of illegal activity taking place within the government. This bill seems like the very last thing anyone needs.

Full text of Senate Bill 1534: https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://www.leg.state.or.us/12reg/measpdf/sb1500.dir/sb1534.intro.pdf&pli=1

These are the sponsors of the bill, and contact information that enables you to contact them. The majority of the legislators supporting the bill are Republicans, and they are joined by two Democrats. *

* This story incorrectly stated that an Oregon Republican named Mark Johnson was one of the legislators behind this bill, in fact it is Betsy Johnson, a Democrat. The story previously stated that all but one of the signors was a Democrat, in fact two members of this party supported the legislation also. Salem-News.com apologizes for this mistake.

These "representatives" are hard core communists at heart, and are creating the most fascist country on the planet. Vote with your dollars to win this war!

You state: So the statement that all but one of the sponsors is Republican is not true. 2 of them are Democrats.

Editor: Dan, again, this came 100% from the state of Oregon, I am always concerned if a mistake exists, so I will investigate, but for your to be correct, those guys at the capitol would have to be very far off track, again, thanks.

The notion that the "Johnson" sponsor is Mark Johnson (R), who is not even a member of the Oregon Senate, is wrong. It is Besty Johnson (D), who is a member of the Oregon Senate.

Editor: Dan, the story is now corrected, our mistakes are always something that must be addressed and corrected, thank you very much.

Your list of sponsors of this bill is not correct. The "Johnson" sponsor is Betsy Johnson, Democrat. Mark Johnson (Republican) is not a member of the Oregon Senate.

Editor: Dan, I appreciate this, if you are correct then it is the state itself that made the mistake, I will look into it, thanks.

As with all bad legislation that outrages the public, don't be too quick to celebrate. Have no false hopes that this is over. Far from it, they will bring it back with even more creative words so stay vigilant. Was glad to see it had been rebuked, but my first thought was, next time they will be more deceptive, even possibly hiding it in another 'larger' piece of legislation. Beware, you know now what they have planned, so keep a sharp eye out. :) Congratulations for the respite anyhow ! :)

stephen February 7, 2012 3:39 am (Pacific time)

sorry, but after I posted my novel, :-) I noticed what I wrote before Daniel's comment. I did not say "the CIA invented the internet", I said "the CIA put the internet together" And I stand by that comment with one revision. It goes higher than the CIA, but they were an important part of it. At least we can all agree al gore did not invent the internet...lol

Stephen February 7, 2012 3:33 am (Pacific time)

My apologies Daniel, sometimes I have so much in my head, and I know space is limited so I go straight for the kill. Yes, what you wrote is true. What I was trying to say in a quick and unprofessional way, was, that if someone comes out with a technology that is a break-thru, those in charge will take it over and use it for their own good. He was appointed the rank of Knight commander of the most "excellent" order of the British empire. They own him. The elite do this all the time. In fact, if someone comes out with a breakthru energy source, they will stifle/kill it because they make too much money and control with oil. It works both ways. The picture is big Daniel, and its difficult to put decades of learning in a post. It is my opinion, that the elite are dumber than rocks, except the fact they are professionals at manipulation and using other peoples talents for their agenda. . They have been doing it for centuries. The powers to be knew what Tim was up to, and gained total control over him, even before the name "world wide web" came into existence. This is why Jay Rockefeller says "WE" should have never invented the internet. Basically, "WE" are Tim and his handlers. Without his "handlers" WWW would have never gotten off the ground. Daniel, where you and I differ, and believe me, I do feel a bit lonely sometimes, but I believe there is an elite group of people, passed down thru generations, who control much of the world. Queen of England, Rothchild, Rockefellers, etc, I have mentioned it many times. I believe that most of our lives we have been lied to and deceived so that they can continue their agenda. (indoctrinated thru the education system and media that they control) Their agenda is the same for Canada, UK, Australia, U.S. etc. We are all nothing but part of the United Nations now. We are all in the same boat. And the boat, for us anyway, is the Titanic. The reason you and I got off on the wrong foot, is because I read in books decades ago that the elite were going to let the United State take the fall to cover for them. So when people blame the U.S., even tho their complaints are valid, they are not looking at the man behind the curtain. p.s. Daniel, I am glad we are talking with each other rather than at each other. I still need some sanding around the edges but will try my best to be kind and professional. Thanks man, I appreciated your comment. We might end up making a fun team :-)

IT DID NOT PASS, as reported this evening. Let's celebrate

DoubleAgent February 6, 2012 10:10 pm (Pacific time)

'Conspiracy' charges already are rarely filed by "The State" (as Prosecutors so arrogantly, and incorrectly, proclaim themselves to be). Very difficult to prove. So, only natural to create a new Law when you can't make the existing ones work. Or when those pesky 1st Amendment rights to speech and free assembly get in the way. Thankfully the language in that Bill is so ridiculously vague and confusing, that I can't imagine its success. And since it requires inciting a 'specific time and specific place,' an easy way to circumvent is to advocate general chaos and anarchy at random times and in general places ;)

stephen February 6, 2012 5:54 pm (Pacific time)

done for the night, but just a bit more info. The CIA put the internet together. (no, al gore did not invent the internet, but to be honest, he is in with the elite, so maybe it was not as big of lie as most think).

They put the internet together to control but businesses started using it, and soon it was on everyones home PC. They did not expect this..oops. Research Jay Rockefeller (one of the highest elites) at congressional hearings about the internet..he said, " we should have never invented the internet" his words not mine, at a congressional hearing..and research hillary clinton "we are losing the information war"...Yes hillary you are. with webmasters such as Tim King, you ARE losing the information war. Anyway, just a bit of info for ya. Everything I wrote here is all documented thru congressional hearings. You can find it yourself.

DJ: Stephen, I know you're a far better researcher than I am and that if our brains were weighed, yours would undoubtedly have a thousand times more knowledge in it, but I do know a couple of things that you clearly do not. LOL.

The Internet/Web was invented by Sir Tim Berners-Lee while he was an independent contractor at CERN in Europe. You can look that up. The internet was initially an academic tool. Info.cern.ch was the address of the world's first-ever web site and web server, running on a NeXT computer at CERN in August 1991.

I've saved the bad news for last: Berners-Lee is not an American. He was born in the UK.

To anon the 85 year old woman..I applaud you with a standing ovation. You are soooooo beautiful!! On another note from my previous comment, the social media is how they control us, and here is another example: The obama phone: Check out this link. Obama is giving a free cell phone with 250 free minutes to those who are eligible, mostly welfare recipients etc. This is not a scam this is a government operation, and I myself could not get this offer because I am not eligible. For those who are on welfare or other government perks, they now are giving you a free cell phone and 250 minutes free. with tax payer dollars.. https://www.safelinkwireless.com/Safelink/home p.s. its kinda hard to fight government corruption when the government is giving everyone money/government jobs/housing/cell phones/food stamps and food subsidies to keep the food prices down etc. The problem is: the money is about to tun out..Then what? How long can they keep printing? I will tell ya how long. They will keep printing until they start WW3 to get themselves out of this mess they created. then they will come back afterwards and be our savior. Typical history, its happened over and over.

Ananomous February 6, 2012 4:50 pm (Pacific time)

My e-mail to every committee member! Down with Senate Bill 1534.. I am an 85 year old woman, and one of the 99%, are you??

Stephen February 6, 2012 4:24 pm (Pacific time)

Tim: a quick heads up. Twitter/facebook/etc..all set up by CIA. People think that the poor citizens of Egypt do not have cell phones but they all do. It was easy for the CIA to see where the revolt was coming from thru the social media and head it off at the pass, and control it. They did the same thing with the occupy movement (george soros etc). By using twitter/facebook/etc. the CIA knows exactly what is going on. All Planned. The reason legislation comes out such as what this article mentions is because those in power are seeing that people are waking up to their lies and corruption, and they are a tad bit nervous. So they will make all the draconian legislation they can to protect themselves. Simple as that.

AmandaBlack February 6, 2012 4:00 pm (Pacific time)

Senate Bill 1534 would be a final blow to our Constitutional Rights to freely voice our opinions, regardless who agrees or not. Count the "Like" votes on Facebook, to see the percentage of affirmative votes by the people.Let them know, they might be out of the Senate at the next election. Down with SB 1534

Anonymous February 6, 2012 3:47 pm (Pacific time)

This is a tragedy in the making, and why are they all republicans, what do we read from this?  Dumb question really of course since we know the first order on their agenda is dismantling the freedom our forefathers claimed for Americans way back in the beginning.  The fact that Jackie Winters is Black is sad sad sad, she makes no sense and is not a champion for her people, only for the 1%.
