(MADRID) - From 2014 , the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of China has banned the TV channels to acquire rights over more than one foreign TV program annually. Each program can not be issued in time 'prime time' between 19:30 and 22:00 during the first year in which it was imported. Only the issue of a "talent show" every three months will be approved. For seven and a half hours a day the TV channels can not emit fiction series or entertainment programs, which will be replaced by news, educational and public order programs. "For us it will be difficult, how we will fill so many hours of broadcast. Many channels used to broadcast series, competitions, magazines and movies from other countries, "said an executive of a Chinese newspaper chain to 'Nanfang Dushibao'. That was not the only reaction within the country. A professional media has stated that "control the TV entertainment is something like the Maoist era" and the largest social network in China, Weibo, many criticized the regulation, describing it as "a new cultural revolution." Behind this decision are political and economic reasons. Alarmed by the many foreign programs, some politicians fear that they "pollute" the youth audience, increasingly permeable to the reality 'American Idol', whose local version, 'Chinese Idol' enjoys high participation and advertising. So programs that follow the instructions of the Communist Party will be encouraged. This measure seeks to protect the China Central Television (CCTV). As an example, in the Chinese province of Henan was issued a program called "Interviews before execution". The presenter, Ding Yu (pictured), interviews murderers, rapists, drug dealers and convicted of corruption, minutes before execution. During the meeting, the presenter insults inmates. The program, which was followed by more than 40 million viewers, was canceled by the pressure exerted by the international community (Source: La Razón)
