(BEIJING) - China Earthquake A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck southwestern China on Sunday, killing at least 175 people in a remote mountainous area of Yunnan province, causing some buildings, including a school, to collapse.

(LONDON) - House of Fraser The law firm Clyde & Co has advised Sanpower Group Co. Limited (Sanpower Group) in relation to its acquisition of an 89% stake in British retailer House of Fraser.

The deal, signed on 3 April 2014 and valued at approximately GBP 480 million (USD 800 million), is the Sanpower Group’s first major investment in the UK retail sector and China’s largest foreign retail investment to date.

27 dead so far, officials say number could grow...

(YUNNAN PROVINCE) - At least 27 dead at Kunming Railway Station. A horrible event in China Saturday around 9 p.m. at the Kunming Railway Station in Yunnan province, left well over 100 people stabbed. Sadly, at least 27 people died, not a shot was fired.

There were multiple knife-wielding assailants according to Xinhua News, the attack happened at a train station in in southwestern China on Saturday.

Chinese Sale of Submarines to Bangladesh

China is also helping Bangladesh rebuild the Ordinance Factory in Gazipur which produces small arms and ammunition.

(KUALA LAMPUR) - Bangladesh submarine Bangladesh has finalized a deal to purchase two Ming-class submarines from China. Deal, which is waiting for final approval from the Finance Ministry, for the two submarines was worth $203.3 million.

It would be paid by Bangladesh during the fiscal year 2017-2018.

Alarmed by the many foreign programs, some politicians fear that they "pollute" the youth audience, increasingly permeable to the reality 'American Idol', whose local version, 'Chinese Idol' enjoys high participation and advertising.

(MADRID) - From 2014 , the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of China has banned the TV channels to acquire rights over more than one foreign TV program annually.

Each program can not be issued in time 'prime time' between 19:30 and 22:00 during the first year in which it was imported. Only the issue of a "talent show" every three months will be approved.

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Mr Ilham Tohti On 15 January 2014, Mr Ilham Tohti, an economics professor at the Central University for Nationalities in Beijing, was detained by police following a raid on his home that afternoon.

According to a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, he was detained on suspicion of 'breaking the law'. Ilham Tohti has been consistently outspoken on Uyghur rights in China and critical of official policy in Xinjiang province, the homeland of China's Muslim Uyghur population. He has been detained numerous times previously as a result of his advocacy.
