Portland Police Arrest Two Suspects for Murder

Detectives do not believe that the victim and suspects knew each other.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - On Tuesday February 1, 2011, Portland Police detectives along with the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force arrested two suspects in connection with the death of 40-year-old Robert Williams.

39-year-old Lynette Anne Harris of Gresham and 23-year-old Jarome Lamont Weeks of Northeast Portland were arrested and each charged with one count of Murder and one count of Robbery in the First Degree. Both suspects were booked into the Multnomah County Jail and were arraigned on the charges this afternoon, Wednesday February 2, 2011.

The investigation started on Friday December 31, 2010, at approximately 5:31 a.m., when Portland Police officers responded to the report of an assault at Northwest 6th and Davis in Downtown Portland. Officers arrived and found 40-year-old Robert Williams down in the street bleeding heavily. Williams was transported to Oregon Health Sciences University where he died on January 13, 2011.

Detectives do not believe that the victim and suspects knew each other. Detectives are still actively investigating this case and would still like to hear from anyone who has information regarding the death of Robert Williams.
