Believers Against the War Plan Peaceful Protest

(CLACKAMAS) - A mix of motives for opposing the war: constitutional, ideological, practical, strategic, political and moral are behind Believers Against the War. But, the one thing that all those who plan to protest on December 23rd, at 2:00 PM, near the Clackamas Town Center, agree on is that it is time to start withdrawing the troops from Iraq. This planned protest site is the same location that David Brownlow and his soldier-family were denied their 1st Amendment right of free speech and expression, and the right to assemble at their Protest earlier this month. This December 23rd protest intends to urge the community and political leaders in Congress to support the prompt withdrawal of all American military forces and bases from Iraq. While shoppers are busy about their holiday business, the peaceful protesters hope to remind them that America's sons and daughters are trapped in a war zone 8,000 miles away from home. Protesters (many who have family members who have been maimed, killed or are currently in eminent danger) believe that staying in Iraq will not work and is not worth the price. The peaceful protest will include members of Military Families Speak Out (MFSO), the Constitution Party of Oregon, and the new Christian anti-war group, BELIEVERS AGAINST THE WAR (BAW). Suzanne Brownlow, BAW Communications Director, said, “As Believers, we need to be the first (especially at this Christian holiday) to speak for seeking peace with our neighbors. We are exercising our 1st amendment rights of free speech and assembly to protest American occupation and meddling in Iraq. Our soldiers who are experiencing an especially escalating violence in Iraq are counting on us to get them home!” David Brownlow, BAW Executive Director, said, “Many of our churches have been spreading the falsehood that this war has a biblical justification. In reality, nothing could be further from the truth. We want to let our evangelical friends know that it is OK to speak out against U.S. occupation of Iraq." Anyone who opposes this war, for any reason, is welcome to join this protest.

Jesus Christ...as BELIEVERS, each self-professed Christian should be completely against this war of agression. But then, t'would seem that the Western Christian religion as practiced today has no ties back to the teachings of Christ except in lip service. Ignorance can not continue to be the Human condition -- at some point we MUST stand up and be responsible for our actions, both at home and abroad.

Charles, I went to your sight and found it to be sophomoric. I really can not be sure if you are Charles. I have done extensive reading on Iraq, 9/11, Cheney, Blackwater, and on and on. There is so much information on what is really going on regarding this administration but not on main stream media. You have to use independent sources. Did you read Palast's book or even his DVD documentary? I am sure you did not. Can you answer the simple question, if we were attacked by Saudi's, why are we in Iraq? You are also talking to someone who has a different slant than alot of Americans, because many of my relatives were on the other side of the fence during WW2 literally. I know what war is about. I know how civilians suffer and that history is written by the victors. I only present fact. Does it bother you that over 650,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed so far and that does not include the injured, permanently injured and disfigured? Would you care more if Iraqi's had blonde hair and blue eyes? Do they not count as humans because their skin is brown? You obviously do no independent reading and probably even watch television. One of my old schoolmates Jane Akre and her husband worked for Fox as investigative reporters. Why don't you ask them what they think about media, corporations and government. Google them. Google another schoolmate...Joan Echtenkamp Klein...she helped expose the Tuskeegee Syphillis study. Our government used about 500 black men as human guinea pigs for decades by telling them they were getting treatment but instead they just wanted to see what the ravages of syphillis would do to the human body. If you trust the government (and I don't just mean Bush or Kerry or Kennedy or F.D.R.) then you are a fool. They are all owned by corporations and bankers.

We were attacked by 15 Saudi Terrorists backed by Osama Bin Laden. Why did the propaganda go against Iraq? Simple.... The connections between the Saudi Royal Family and the Bushes. In 1976 a trust agreement appointed James R. Bath with managing funds of a very wealthy and powerful particular Saudi Royal Family, specifically two brothers Omar and Abdulla Bin Laden. The Saudi Royal family was frightened of radical Islamic terrorists and the Ayatollah Homeni of Iran. The quid-pro-quo agreement beteen the Bushes and the Saudi Royals was "You protect us from these radicals and we will give you whatever you like including funding businesses of your family and campaign contributions. This is how money worked it's way from Bath who was the major connection betweem the Bin Ladens and the Bush family. This is how George W. Bush's first major business venture Arbusto Ltd. got its initial funding even though it went belly-up. Our agencies like the F.B.I. and C.I.A were prevented from interviewing the Bin Ladens as early as 1996 with regard to their knowledge of certain organizations in Saudi Arabia funding terrorist organizations. The American people did not know about this but our agencies did. Before I go into great detail, see if you can find the documentary on DVD, "Bush Family Fortunes" by Greg Palast. He is also the author of "THe Best Democracy Money Can Buy". Additonally, the plans to divide Iraq were drawn up years before Sept. 11th, to split up the oil fields among certain multinationals. All of the people that pointed the finger at Iraq as some sort of a danger when they could barely get a SCUD missle to Israel knew they were lying and would look right into the camera without conscience. Rice, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz, Bush, Ari Fleisher should be prosecuted. They knew there were no W.M.D. As I have told you before. Stop watching television and get your information from sources like the library, book stores, different internet sights etc. Even newspapers and radios are completly controlled. You ruffle feathers and you are fired. What kind of insight does that lend itself to?
