(CLEVELAND) - It is a good time for human beings to be on alert and paying attention to the world around them... the one that they can see is damaged, hurting and increasingly frail. While alive, in the physical realm, we exist in a place that we simultaenously destroy with war and profit ventures; we do it knowing that most of us are helpless and those in power don't care about the right things, they care about stuffing their wallets often at the expense of the poor and little else. While wallowing through these hard times, we must give our fair share of time and attention to what we can't see; that is to the one that comes from far above. Faith is really not invisible, we see the results of our prayers in our good deeds, in the positive moments with our friends, families and children. Let's get it together in this world and find our way to what works best for everyone, that would be a great benefit to all. An Angel Is In The Midst 'Exodus 23'Have you ever wondered how some people always get away? How many have been there, done that, got the T-shirt & the hat, Obedience brings the blessings while disobedience brings the curse, Exodus 23: 20, “I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way,” So don’t repeat or raise a false report or lend the wicked a helping hand, I will send My terror and confuse all the people to whom you shall come, You shall not oppress a temporary resident for you were a stranger yourself, There are 66 books in the bible yet which is the most important one to read? 23: 24, “do not bow down before their God, worship them, or follow their ways,” But, wherever I look nothing has changed everything is still in the same place, Is this only for the Old Testament? Excuse my English but no it ain’t, By Luke Easter As Parents Remember Proverbs 22: 6 & Ecclesiastes 7: 1As parents remember that you are the only original guide, Grab a Webster’s dictionary, looking up the word esteem, Ecclesiastes 7: 1, a 'good name' sets the standard boundary, Hindsight is the best sight; “If I could do it all over again” is true, If some didn’t at fifteen or earlier, then just what are we to do? Hey parents! At home you cuss, you smoke, you drink, Does it always turn out like this, how about the majority? As we diligently tutor our off spring an example will be set, Many children are afflicted from the very first breath taken in time, By Luke Easter _____________________________________________
Luke Easter is a poet who writes about things that are very close to the heart of Salem-News.com. Another former U.S. Marine, Luke heals the world with an approach that reaches people on a different level, one known for centuries, yet too often forgotten in the one we live in. We live in a world of social & economic injustice. The main reason for founding America in the first place was to relieve the oppression of the King of England. Patrick Henry said it best, “give me liberty or give me death.” And yet, all too often death seems to be the only way out. Why is there such a high suicide rate especially among teens, in the land of the free & the home of the brave? What makes headlines? Good news? Ha! More depressing stories than anything else. I feel poetry takes an edge off the hurt of bad news while still delivering it but in a, “glitzy” sort of way. Giving a different perspective. Kind of like slap in the face as opposed to a knife in the back. At least with the slap you’ll live to see another day and you will know whom it’s from. I wasn’t here for the beginning of the world but at 59, I just might be here for the end. Even though it’s still a knife, rhyme poetry helps to dull the blade. And that’s my job.
