Poetry: Jesus Standard Time and Jesus' DNA

JST (aka) Jesus Standard Time

Ask several different people to look at their watch,
Or in the home it’s the same with all of your clocks,
Those always entertaining the past or future in mind,
So, in the same place all will not have the same time.

Standard time surfaced in the 1800’s due to the railroad,
Not because of lives lost but to property and the payload,
Death actually meant nothing; people were easily replaced,
Huge losses to trains and cargo well, that’s a different case.

As it was way back then so it’s happening in society today,
Material goods still rein supreme we dare not throw away,
Lose a life or limb and that is of no serious consequence,
Ha, what about business or political priority? War is a hint.

Cain! Man’s standard time embellishing what evil has done,
Able! An example, “I am well pleased” speaking of the Son,
Mountain, Eastern, Central, Pacific are you known by these?
Or is your time instructed, governed, maintained by J.S.T.?

Are you faithfully remembering ashes to ashes, dust to dust?
Is your Timex ticking love, equality, forgiveness and trust?
Will there be a joyous celebration at the time you’re to leave,
Maybe gathering together at your passing only to be deceived?

Is there any struggle to find encouraging words by friends?
Will many family members and co-workers actually attend?
What should be the testimony in the reading of your eulogy?
100% your name’s written in the book of life or a mystery?

“For we walk by faith” in Jesus Standard Time,
“Not by sight” what the world puts on our mind,
By the promise made to Jacob, Isaac & Abraham,
Setting my watch with J.S.T. Yes I can. Yes I am.

Does everyone understand upon taking that very last breath?
How you breathed before this will determine where you rest,
With all that’s going on in the world how can things be fine?
Relaxing's easy if your watch is set to Jesus Standard Time.

Jesus' DNA

Isn’t it amazing that a crime committed back in 1974,
In 2009 can get you locked up behind prison doors,
There is an exact science, which is known as DNA,
This can set the innocent free & put the guilty away.

Occurring more & more the news is filled with examples,
From something minor like just a single follicle sample,
Now, countless numbers of the innocent are being set free,
As Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid has turned defeat into victory.

I can see the difference between a blue jay and a pigeon,
Where you are worshiping denotes what kind of religion,
The color of your skin is a usually good sign of your race,
How we feel, is posted by the smile or frown on our face.

There are scientific methods used to determine whose DNA,
On the surface eyes and ears can tell by what we do and say,
Everyday our attitudes show out in life through work or play,
Do you freely give what you don’t need or make others pay?

We know some things are inherent like the breast cancer gene,
But it’s a choice for your attitude to be selfish, nasty and mean,
And no matter how many billions of dollars any man is worth,
A woman and only a woman will ever be able to give birth.

Many are the evil ones, who thought they were just way too bad,
Simply untouchable until evidence was presented in the crime lab,
I knew a perfect set of identical twins that were easy to tell apart,
One was cool easy going while the other had malice in their heart.

Many times only DNA can separate innocence from guilt,
When it does the difference is as clear as wool from silk,
So, when the final blood or saliva analysis does come out,
Exactly who did on did not do it well, there is no doubt.

The unique thing about this DNA is that we have a choice,
You can choose to be related to Satan or in Christ to rejoice,
The main reason many pick evil? Gratification's now. Today!
Instead of waiting on oven baked they want the microwave.

Understand that this is a process, meaning it takes a while,
Joseph who saved Israel waited 13 years in tribulation exile,
Oh yeah, Jesus by far had the greatest ever gospel ministry,
And the Begotten One didn’t start preaching till He was 30.

Because the promises are later, not sooner don’t walk away,
FedX & UPS have overnight delivery service but not DNA,
Strength comes not from the beach but trials in the wilderness,
Understand, to graduate each subject must have its own test.

You don’t need a test to separate dark from light or good from bad,
A microscope isn’t necessary to distinguish between happy and sad,
Yet many are still deceived to be lead down a destructive pathway,
Why? When thanks to Calvary’s Cross we can all claim Jesus’ DNA.
