New Political Party Being Formed to Advance Food & Health Freedom

A Grassroots Initiative to Reform Medical, Industrial Food and Environmental Corruption - A Report by Kathryne Pirtle on The Canary Party Convention Your Health, Your Choice, Our Voice.

The Canary political group is formulating its platform around individual health rights.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - The Canary Party is a grassroots initiative aimed at reforming medical, industrial food and environmental corruption and the obstruction of human rights with regard to these issues.

From July 21-23, 2011, Minneapolis, Minnesota hosted the first Canary Party Convention.

A core group of brilliant lawyers, leading medical and holistic health practitioners, leaders of advocacy groups, authors of pivotal interrelated books, and key people whose children have been injured through our current system of corrupt medical procedures worked together to shape the message and define the focus of activism.

The Canary Party will work toward an organized country-wide political unity to affirm:

• Awareness of the problems we face
• Freedom –Freedom to choose and refuse
• Choice—The right of alternative health practitioners to practice
• Precaution—First do no harm
• Sovereignty—The right and the responsibility to manage your own health; The right to unbiased information
• Scientific Integrity
• Justice and compassion

The canary symbolizes the warning of severe repercussions of toxins:

“In 19th century coalmines, canaries were used for the first time to detect the presence of poisonous gas accumulation deep in underground tunnels. Because their metabolisms run faster than humans, these small animals provided a crucial signal in dangerous times: the canaries would die from toxic gas releases before humans. Normally quite vocal, the silence of these songbirds was the signal of danger. Back then, miners whose lives depended on the absence of poisons paid close attention to the absence of the canary’s song. Today, as the rising power and spread of the medical and industrial food complex is taking an increasing toll on human health; we need to recognize the silenced canaries all around us.

What is this toll? Nothing less than a generation of sick, injured and dying children…

In the simplest terms, the medical and industrial food complex has launched a massive and uncontrolled experiment on a generation of Americans. In an unprecedented intervention in human immune development, this complex has succeeded in promoting an explosion in medical industry revenues and profits; this explosion has been accompanied, however, by an epidemic of death, disability and chronic disease, much of which can be traced directly to these medical and chemical exposures….

The unfettered march of the medical and industrial food complex is a threat to Western society as we know it…This must all change.”

One of the most powerful unifying experiences of the convention was hearing the story of Jim Navarro. “Jim Navarro is a Marine who fought valiantly for the right to treat his four year old son Thomas with alternative medical interventions for brain cancer in order to avoid the toxic life-threatening effects of chemotherapy and radiation. He was denied his right and forced to put Thomas on the risky treatments which ended up taking the boy’s life. Jim and his wife Donna, after taking time off to grieve the loss of their son, are stepping back into health activism in order to insure that other children are not needlessly lost to cancer treatments when new and less toxic treatments are emerging.”

Seeing Cut Poison Burn left every single convention attendee sobbing in grief. Why were medical authorities and governmental agencies allowed to withhold Jim and Donna’s requested treatment at the Burzynski Research Institute for their son—the only treatment that had a proven efficacy for brain tumors in children? The attempts to curtail the effective cancer research of Dr. Burzynski, which in turn lead to the death of Thomas, are unfathomable to any reasonable, caring citizen. The term predatorial capitalism was used at the convention to describe the current tactics of big pharma and our industrial food system. This barbarian business strategy is one that takes no interest in long term effects of savage profit mongering. It is a “Profit at All Costs” mentality.

Harry Truman’s statement, “A nation is only as healthy as its children,” is a chilling prediction. We as a nation must heed this wisdom and prepare to make changes in our perception of what truly will build our prosperity. Our children are our legacy. We must change course.
