Aug-09-2011 21:09TweetFollow @OregonNews The Wandering Who? is out soonGilad Atzmon Salem-News.comI can assure you that none of my detractors have read my book yet, but they know what to expect.
(LONDON) - My new book, “The Wandering Who? A Study Of Jewish Identity Politics”, is scheduled for release in six weeks time and it seems that the usual suspects -- Zionists and their collaborators within the marginal 'left' -- are already in a state of panic. In the last few days, my publishing house, my editors and I have been subjected to immense and intense pressure that included harassment, intimidation, and even anonymous threats, as the demands mounted on my publisher to pull the book. Leading the harassment campaign were the openly pro-war Zionist Islamophobes from “Harry’s Place”, who wrote “more now than ever, strong opposition to Atzmon and his politics is needed.” Within minutes of the “Harry’s Place” post, Andy Newman joined in with their futile attempt at an intimidation campaign, writing on Socialist Unity “I am concerned to learn that the anti-Semite, Gilad Atzmon, is writing a book on Jews for the Zero Press.”(Andy Newman is the “Socialist” who for years appeared to spend much of his energy engaged mainly in gate-keeping anti-Israeli discourse within the British 'left'.) Predictably enough, staunch Iraq war advocate and Israeli Hasbara author David Aaronovitch was also very quick to join in the campaign on the notorious Jewish Chronicle’s pages. The question must be asked: why are these people so afraid of Gilad Atzmon? Why are they afraid of Atzmon’s writing and ideas? Why are they so desperate to stop the book, even going so far as to attempt to intimidate the author, the editor and the publishing company? Be assured that I have collected all the relevant information about the individuals who have attempted to launch an intimidation campaign against me and my publisher, and I will publish it all in due time -- but the most important factor to observe here is -- how is it that the openly Islamophobic “Harry’s Place” and pro-war David Aaronovitch are very caught together with the armchair ‘progressive’ “Socialist Unity”, united in the same cause of trying to stop my work from being published ? I believe that my new book provides the answers. I disclose the horrifying continuum between Zionists and so called Jewish ‘anti’ Zionists. I also explore the deep Islamophabia within the left. Without referring to ethnicity or race, I unveil some fundamental issues at the core of Jewish Identity politics. I can assure you that none of my detractors have read my book yet, but they know what to expect. They know what I am capable of. And indeed, I promise to provide. The book is short but I believe it says it all, and it has already been endorsed and supported by some of the most important thinkers and academics within the anti Zionist movement. Dear friends, I have a big war ahead of me, and I predict that I may need your support from time to time. Surprisingly perhaps, I would like to end this post by quoting from the racist “Harry’s Place” mission statement -- stamped boldly on their webpage is the terse aphorism, “Liberty, if it means anything, is the right to tell people what they don’t want to hear.” I actually go along with the “Harry’s place” mantra -- and I hope that my detractors will be brave enough to deal with my text. At least for them reflection is long overdue. You can now pre-order the book on Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk ___________________________________

Ralph, I don't dismiss any of the science that has been put forward so far. I'm waiting for some other DNA research that is suppose to come online by next spring, then I will still wait to see how well it all holds up after a replication process has been pursued. I imagine there will be A "Eureka" moment, and new research will start once again. Does it really mean anything in the final analysis? I don't believe so, because we are talking about opposing ideologies, and there will someday be that final conflict.

Now I am not a geneticist, but in June 2010, genetic research supervised by geneticist Harry Ostrer of the New York University School of Medicine, and published in the American Journal of Human Genetics, led to a whole series of journalistic comments on Sand's book. Some interpreters of the data concluded that the research supported Sands' conclusions and others claim it refutes it. For example, geneticist Noah Rosenberg of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, states in an article in Science that although the study "does not appear to support" the Khazar hypothesis, it "doesn't entirely eliminate it either." The genetic study is consistent with the view promoted by Sand that, "from the time of the Hellenistic Jewish writers in the second century BCE to Philo Judaeus of Alexandria in the first century CE, not only was conversion favorably received, but some of the writings actually promoted it. Mark, ust because you don't like Sands' theory, it is a bit condescending on your part to just dismiss those mentioning it as delusionary, incapable of rational thought. Don't shoot the messenger because you don't like the message.

Ralph DNA testing has been going on for several years now. Waiting for preliminary results so all these theories can be challenged with some empirical data. But like the 911 Truthers, sometimes evidence just gets in the way of delusion, so I expect my people will continue to be maligned by those incapable of rational thought.

Let's go back to the beginning. In a highly controversial book, "When and How Was the Jewish People Invented?", Israeli scholar Shlomo Sand argues, among other things, that: (a) the Diaspora--the founding narrative of modern Israel--was actually a myth, there being no evidence that the Romans drove all the Jews into the wilderness en masse; (b) many of the European Jews who moved to Palestine after the Holocaust were really not related to the Jews who once dwelt in the Holy Land, but had descended from Europeans living in the Kingdom of the Khazars (in eastern Russia), who converted to Judaism in the 8th or 9th century; and (c) that the people known as "Palestinians" today are probably descendents of the Jews who lived in Jesus's time. Sand's book calls into question some long held paradigms such as the argument that "the Jews" are an eternal monad, who have somehow stayed genetically distinct from every other people throughout history and that the Jews who live in Israel today are the direct descendants of the Jews whom Moses guided to the Promised Land. We don't hear much about Sand's book.

It appears we have some debating with facts(Peter, Mark and anonymous) against one who debate with opinion based on what kind of experience? By the way life is not always a leap of faith. For example when I pull the trigger to blow someone away I know from extensive experience that the trigger pull will blow that person away. That experience is from COMBAT, not sitting around and stewing my thoughts thinking existentially like some dreaming fool whose life experience is reading about others experiences.

Actually Daniel if you ever took a course in Northern American Indians you would see that the various tribes were in constant conflict, ergo, count the number of different tribes, then consider the different factions vying for power in these tribes. In northern America at a place called Buffalo Falls the Indians would drive whole herds off cliffs to maybe harvest less than 1% of them. They would enslave other tribes, and during times of famine would engage in cannibalism of the other tribes. The Aztecs, you think they believed the planet belonged to all? The Incas? Apaches? Etc.? As the American philosopher John Smith said, "Trust, but verify."
Your comment about the divisiveness of the Native Indians of the 16th century and before is accurate. Not much different than modern Christians.
John Smith? Never heard of him. "Trust, but verity" was a signature saying of Ronald Reagan.

DJ I am a Christian, and could care less about the views of some communist, as I'm sure Mr. Feibleman, as well as the majority of Americans, Canadians, and all people of faith feel simarily. Life is quite often nothing more than a leap of faith, and that is how paradigm shifts happen, otherwise one is trapped in the secular dogma that you embrace. I am not as militant as Mr. Feibleman, but can understand how he feels and most importantly, where he's coming from. The terrorists have infiltrated the west, and time grows short for their removal without major chaos happening. What happens here in America, in time happens all over the world. We are the largest economy, and if we dissolve into anarchy, so goes the rest of the world.
DJ: I think you meant to say "couldn't care less".
You say that " Life is quite often nothing more than a leap of faith". It's not quite often. It's always!
You mention "secular dogma". Is it any different than your "Christian dogma? Not really, which was my earlier point. Those who think they have absolute truth will, in order to defend the indefensible, resort to killing and torturing unbelievers. This has been the history of Christianity which is no different than contemporary Islam. The source of proselytizing is insecurity. The larger the number of people who believe as you do (even if they were converted through torture), the more secure you can feel about your belief system and that you are right.

As an American Jew (born in 1944, and retired career militrary, U.S. Army Airborne/Special Forces, now a "no-nonsense"security contractor who hates radical Islamist' more than my very life!) who is religiously observant, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the support that Israel and Jews get from religious Christians and the U.S Congress. Ironically mostly by Jewish Democrats like Kerry, Feinstein, Boxer, Levin, Wyden and so many more "chosen" brothers and sisters in the U.S. Senate and House of Reps. The way that they express their faith so naturally and authentically, and move from thought to speech to action, is an example for us all.
I think that religious Jews and religious Christians have in common a belief that G-d controls all and that our job is to do the right thing, and let G-d worry about the consequences. My world-view has more in common with religious Christians than it does with non-believers who descend from people of any faith. Those of the muslim cult routinely kill non-believers of their gutter beliefs, and have been doing so for over 13 hundred years. Gilad believes as I do, don't you novice of no merit?
To those of you who are non-Jewish supporters of Israel, you have my deepest thanks from the bottom of my heart. "Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
That is what “Right-Wing” Christians Believe! Islamists and their useful idiot tool supporters are doomed to burn in hell for eternity. May that process begin soon. Somalia is an excellent example of G-d showing us what happens to evil. Peace to the real peacemakers, the Jews and conservative Christians. We do not turn the cheek, but lay waste to evil in self-defense, for evil cannot constrain their violent ways. See the riots and flash mobs, but most importantly see who they are! See who their supporters are, know the enemy, for they often mask themselves as callers of peace, and express outrage when we point out their deceptions. We know you, evil ones.
DJ: You are entitled to your opinion Peter, which is based completely on faith. The native Americans who lived here before the arrival of the Europeans, had their own spiritual beliefs that included, among other things, that the earth belonged to everyone. How much credence would you give to their claim that the land you call the U.S. was theirs as well and they had the right, to claim it and use it differently?
I don't think you'd give it any credence at all which applies equally to people, like yourself, who argue that some invisible man in the sky gave you the land you call Israel, based on unverifiable evidence accepted completely on faith. Your religious views are just as intolerant and inflexible as those of the Islamists. They just, by modern standards, happen to be extremely backward.
What you are advocating is that your particular beliefs trump everyone else's and, in that sense, you're forcing your religious beliefs on the rest of the world.
As the American philosopher Lewis Mumford wrote in The Pentagon on Power: "If the history of the human race teaches any plain lessons, this is one of them: Man cannot be trusted with absolutes".
That's why religion in almost all its forms is so destructive and problematic. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all absolutist belief systems. You'll probably reply to this comment and I hope you do. Just bear in mind that religious arguments have no force in the world outside faith..

you are a joke, the only issue that will make someone aware of your red book, is ONE BLOG and ONE PERSON, so you should thank them that you got minimum publicity ..............
Editor: Gilad is one of the leading voices in the fight to free Palestine. He was born and raised Israeli and he knows what many of us report from a first-hand perspective. He is a talented musician who blows people away and his devotion to humanity is unrivaled. He is anything but a joke, in fact he is why things are changing, so of course you attempt to debase and misconstrue his character, but our readers and many people beyond our readers are well familiar with this man who represents a threat to those who hate and colonize and kill.
