John Ira Christiansen was with his wife at a convention in Aloha on August 2nd 2008. They are from Walla Walla in Washington State. He should be driving his black 1999 Toyota Solara two-door. Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff's Office says that at deputies responded to the Aloha area at 4:36 PM Saturday concerning the report of a missing 71-year old man with Alzheimer's disease. Ray says 71-year old John Ira Christiansen was reported missing by his wife. She told deputies she last saw her husband at 11:00 AM Saturday when he drove their Toyota Solara to a local restaurant. Mr. Christiansen was alone when she last saw him, Ray said. "When he did not return to pick her up as planned, she became very concerned and called the Washington County Sheriff's Office for help." Ray says the woman stressed that it was very much out of the ordinary for Mr. Christiansen to not return when he was scheduled to. While Mr. Christiansen is vaguely familiar with the area, according to Ray, it was reported to deputies that Mr. Christiansen gets confused easily especially in unfamiliar places. Multiple Sheriff's Deputies immediately responded and began the investigation. Ray says the deputy on the scene began relaying important information to the other units who were diligently searching for Mr. Christiansen. "A police bulletin was sent to all law enforcement agencies in the four western states to advise them to keep a look-out for Mr. Christiansen and his vehicle. Deputies have no evidence to believe there may be foul play." Ray stated. As of August 2nd 2008, at 11:00 PM, neither John Christiansen nor his vehicle have been located. Ray says he should be driving his black 1999 Toyota Solara two-door car with Washington plate number 606XGX similar to the one shown in the photo below. John Ira Christiansen is described as having light colored skin, he is 5'9" tall, a thin build, gray colored hair, blue eyes and should be wearing glasses. In addition to gray hair, he also has a gray goatee beard. John Christiansen should be wearing tan shorts with a tan plaid shirt, and brown slip-on leather shoes. Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff's Office says detectives and deputies are continuing the investigation to bring Mr. Christiansen home safely. Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of Mr. Christiansen or his vehicle is asked to immediately call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-629-0111.
