Madisyn Jenkins was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) January 27th of this year. Since then, she has been undergoing treatment for Leukemia at Doernbecher's.

Van Laanen says their agency commander may even get involved, "Rumor has it that Sheriff Bob Wolfe is going to shave his head if he can find enough sponsors to support him for Madisyn". That he says, is where his pledge money is going.

"Everyone can help by sponsoring an individual by donating money towards the shaving of that individual's hair. Or, by volunteering to have your head shaved for the cause. Another way people can help is by donating a sum directly to her cancer fund."

Donation / sponsorship forms are available at the Sheriff's Office in Dallas, or you can email Salem-News.com at newsroom@salem-news.com.

If you would like to participate or assist in the event with fund-raising please contact Lieutenant Jeff Van Laanen, Polk County Sheriff's Office 503-623-9251 or Deputy Kelly Fredinburg with the Marion County Sheriff's Office at (503) 606-0308.
