Salem Police Investigate Shooting

The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police responded to a shooting in the 3400 block of 30th Ave NE. Officers say that when they arrived, they found a 22-year old Hispanic male who had been shot.

The victim was transported to Salem Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 18-19 years of age wearing a brown flannel jacket with a gray hood and blue jeans.

The suspect was accompanied by two other unknown males, police say.

"The suspect fired multiple shots at the victim striking the victim and nearby apartments. All three suspects fled on foot and got into a vehicle described as a brown or gray Pontiac Sunfire sedan."

Salem Police say the shooting is being investigated as gang-related.
