(SALEM, Ore.) - Today W. Ames Curtright, conservative and independent Republican candidate for Governor, announced that as the next Governor he will put the entire state payroll online in order to make full disclosure to the public.

“Our citizens have the right to know how their tax dollars are being spent. By putting the state’s payroll online, we will shed some light into the darkest corners of state government,” said Ames Curtright.

“As a businessman I am always watching the bottom line on payroll. These expenditures can either make or break a company. Taxpayers are similar to shareholders, and hence, they should be informed how the bulk of their tax dollars are being spent.”

Also Ames Curtright plans on disclosing pensions which is another huge obligation.

Curtright’s online disclosure report will be more than just a spreadsheet. It will also serve as a point of reference for policy advisors and citizens to find out what state employees earn, who is getting what size pension and payments made by government agencies to businesses and people. You will be able to obtain data for various departments and be able to make comparisons.

Most importantly, the online report will help drive accountability in state government.

“It’s not the government’s money. It is the people’s money and our citizens deserve a full accounting of their tax dollars,” added Ames Curtright.

Over the past several weeks, Ames Curtright has been the only candidate offering new ideas and bold reforms. He wants to exempt Oregon from the new national health care law that will bust the state budget with all the new mandates. Last week, Ames announced that he wants to create a sunset commission to review all state expenditures in order to get rid of duplication of services rather than making across the board cuts. Moreover, he is the only candidate who has signed the No New Taxes pledge.

“Politics as usual is not going to balance the state budget or revive our economy. We need a new Governor who will be bold. I am that candidate,” stated Ames Curtright.

Shag Thomas died of a heart attack on July 25, 1982. So, perhaps the last commenter is a fan, or his son, or....he has come back from the afterlife to participate in this incredible conversation. What say you?

Shag Thomas! I remember watching you tear it up for years as a wrestler, then you refereed for some time after that....I remember when some of the wrestlers like the Von Steigers or the Kangaroos would get in your face and we'd be like..."Shag is gonna kick his ass !" Nobody wanted the Shag attack...LOL...You are a part of NW history, bro ! Thanks for the memories !

Vic. Amen brother. Tony Boren. Dutch Savage. The late 50's and 60's had some real characters wrestling in Portland and the NW circuit. Sorry to hear you won't endorse the above candidate. So have anyone in mind? You like former military veterans who dispatched America's enemies?

Yea, that's a good platform to run on. I bet he does real good. He should lie like the democrats to get elected and then do what he wants if he wins, what a dummy.

Well....you have to give the guy credit for this..But....OMG,he's a Republican !!....so is Ron Paul, the only person I took the time to vote for in the last election. My wife and I even switched our registration from Indep. to Republican just so we could vote for Paul in the primaries. I know nothing about this Curtright guy at all other than this, so I am not endorsing him.I like these ideas though.I hope that maybe...finally...Americans can wake up to the two party farce. Democrat...Republican...does it freakin matter? Obama has escalated the wars, spent more on the military and reneged on every campaign promise as far as I can tell, but "party politics" keeps half the country silent or creating excuses for "their guy". It is the flip side of the Bush years. Ever think that maybe thats the way it was planned?? Take turns being the bad/good guys...all the time advancing the same agenda. Reminds me of watching Portland Wrestling when I was a kid.. (Frank Bonema..RIP ! )

Uh.... This guy needs to do more research. The entire listing of how much each position makes is already on-line. I think that he might mean what each PERSON makes, but that is confidential information, the closest that could be released is information about how long someone has worked for the state. But then. it is easy to lookup the "range" data for each position. The information for each MANAGER is already freely available.
