Medical Teams International Responds to Cholera Outbreak in Haiti

Our staff in Haiti are working hard to care for those who are sick and to prevent the transmission of this deadly disease to others.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Cholera outbreak in Haiti Medical Teams International is rushing emergency shipments of cholera kits today to help save lives in Haiti, where more than 150 people have already died in the cholera outbreak.

A medical team of eight nurses from Washington State, assembled by North Shore Baptist Church, Bothell, Wash., is leaving today to join other volunteer medical workers on the scene.

A British classicist, philosopher and ethicist, he is the author of several well-known and best-selling books in religion and morality.

John Hare has in his background the experience of teaching philosophy at the University of Lehigh from 1975 to 1989. In his "God's Call" book, Hare discusses the divine command theory of morality, analyzing texts in Duns Scotus, Kant and contemporary moral theory.

I can accept that Israel is indeed a well of very many incredible Jazz talents. However, one question is still left open -- is there such a thing as Jewish Jazz?

Rachel Corrie Case: Israeli Soldier to Testify Anonymously

Family criticises decision to allow soldier who drove bulldozer that killed daughter to give evidence from behind screen.

(HAIFA) - Rachel Corrie The Israeli soldier at the controls of a bulldozer that crushed to death 23-year-old Rachel Corrie in Gaza in March 2003 is due to give evidence tomorrow in the civil lawsuit brought by the American activist’s family.

However the judge hearing the case in Haifa has ruled that, for security reasons, the soldier can testify anonymously from behind a screen, denying Cindy and Craig Corrie the opportunity to face the man who directly caused their daughter’s death.

Israel`s Murder of Furkan Doğan

Today would have been the young man's 19th birthday.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Furkan Dogan Furkan Doğan shot the Israeli military first, then they shot back, and ultimately executed him on the deck of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla 'Mavi Marmara' last May.

The problem, is that Furkan was only using a video camera. The Israeli commandos who "bravely" stormed this humanitarian aid vessel with unarmed peace activists, used 9mm pistols and sub machine guns to shoot back.
