Suspicious Package Turns Out to be Pot of Bean Soup

After sealing the area off, deputies called experts with the Oregon State Police Bomb Squad who responded and opened the pot.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff's Deputies and the Oregon State Police would like to remind residents to properly dispose of their household garbage after an incident that required police to call in the bomb squad.

Marion County Sheriff's spokesman Sergeant Chris Baldridge says deputies were called out to the report of a suspicious package of Front Street near Crosby Road, north of Salem at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Woodburn Police Seeking Information on Armed Robbery Suspect

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Police in Woodburn are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed the Sherwin-Williams paint store located in the 1500 Block of N. Pacific Highway at gunpoint.

Nobody was hurt during the incident on the afternoon of July 6, and the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Five Injured in Head-On Crash on Ore. Highway 211

The highway was initially closed but is now open to one lane of travel.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police troopers are still on scene of Thursday evening's two vehicle head-on crash that occurred on Highway 211 about a mile east of Woodburn.

Both vehicles to rest on an embankment along the shoulder and some of the occupants were entrapped. Firefighters from Woodburn Fire District and Molalla Rural Fire Protection District responded to the scene for extrication.
