Western Oregon`s Akins Gets Pre-Season Selection

Western Oregon's 2014 schedule features 11 games, with four being played at McArthur Field in Monmouth.

(MONMOUTH, Ore. ) - Western Oregon University football student-athlete, Kraig Akins, was tabbed third team All-American by the Beyond Sports Network website.

Akins was named to the defensive line. He was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2013.

WOU Football Golf Tournament Aug. 18 in Salem

All proceeds from the tournament benefit the WOU Football Association.

(MONMOUTH, Ore. ) - The Western Oregon University football team is having its 10th annual golf tournament at the Salem Golf Club on Aug. 18.

Costs for those interested in participating in the event are $125 for singles and $400 for foursomes. Sponsorships are also available.

Senior QB Ryan Bergman was second in the GNAC last season with 288.2 total yards of offense per contest.

Ryan Bergman, Tyrell Williams, Kraig Akins and Shane Kuenzi all made the preseason annual list by the scouting service, BSN.
