Oregon State Men’s Soccer Drops Final Home Match To Huskies

(Corvallis, Oregon) - Beavers logo The Oregon State men’s soccer team lost, 1-0, in its final home match against Washington Friday evening at Paul Lorenz Field.

The Beavers (6-11-0, 1-9-0 Pacific-10 Conference) had nine shots in the match with six of those on goal and had a strong performance from goalkeeper Steve Spangler who finished with four saves.

(Salem, Oregon) - Willamette Bearcats The University of Puget Sound swimming teams defeated Willamette University in Northwest Conference action on Friday, Nov. 12. Puget Sound's women downed the Bearcats, 151-41. The Logger's men team was victorious over Willamette by a final score of 130-26.

Warner Pacific Basketball Starts Season With 69-66 Win Over LC State

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Warner Pacific Knights Warner Pacific opened up the 2010-11 season with a hard fought 69-66 win over Lewis-Clark State tonight at C.C Perry Gym.

Though the host Knights built a 10 point advantage on two occasions in the second period, the game was in doubt until a three point attempt by LCSC’s Jared Giamonna fell short at the buzzer.

Qualifiers Announced for NAIA Cross Country National Championships at Fort Vancouver

Seven CCC Teams, Led by No. 1 Southern Oregon Men and No. 7 Concordia Women, Included in Field

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) - Cascade Collegiate Conference The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the team and individual qualifiers for the 2010 NAIA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships on Monday. The 55th Annual Men’s and 31st Annual Women’s event will take place at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington, on Saturday, Nov. 20. The women’s 5K run is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PST, followed by the men’s 8K at 11:45 a.m.

Admission to the championships is free. The event is being co-hosted by the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia University (Oregon).

Rose Valley Man Arrested After Shooting at Swat

(KELSO, Wash.) - Shooting investigation logo A 66 year old Rose Valley man was arrested without incident after a lengthy stand-off in which the suspect fired dozens of rounds in and around his residence, and at a SWAT vehicle.

At approximately 2PM, a female called to say that her roommate,Charlie W. Dodd who lives in the 5800 block of Rose Valley Road, was intoxicated, had a gun and was shooting in the house. Deputies responded and cordoned off the rural 5th wheel residence and a few out buildings. Deputies could hear multiple shots being fired from within and around the residence and a call was made to Lower Columbia SWAT.

(PARKLAND, Wash.) - George Fox University Color Bruin Bear Logo In a season-ending defensive contest that saw only four shots on goal taken by both teams combined, the Pacific Lutheran University Lutes edged the George Fox University Bruins 1-0 in a Northwest Conference women’s soccer match on a rainy Saturday afternoon here at the PLU soccer field.

The only score of the game came in the 50th minute during the second half, when the Lutes’ Brittany Bronson kicked in a tip from Jordann Gilmer from seven yards out. It was Bronson’s second score of the season.

Willamette Volleyball Ends Season on High Note, Defeats Whitman, 3-2

Blankenship Finishes with 19 Kills and 21 digs

(SALEM, Oregon) - Willamette Bearcats The Willamette University volleyball team ended the season with a 3-2 victory over Whitman College on Saturday, Nov. 6. The Bearcats won 18-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 15-11. Willamette concludes the season 9-16 overall and 5-11 in the Northwest Conference. Whitman finishes at 8-18 overall and 5-11 in the NWC.
