Elderly Woman Rescued After Several Hours Down Embankment in Crashed Car South of Ashland

Preliminary investigation indicates the woman intentionally drove off the highway during the night and she was inside the car for several hours before the ODOT employee spotted her.

(ASHLAND) - Car crash near Ashland, Oregon 3-17-14 A 71-year old Talent-area woman was rescued Tuesday morning by firefighters after her car was found severa l hundred feet down a steep embankment off Old Highway 99 (Old Siskiyou Highway) east of Interstate 5 south of Ashland.

According to Sergeant Jeff Allison, on March 18, 2014 at approximately 8:46 a.m., Oregon State Police (OSP) and firefighters from Ashland and Jackson County responded to a report that an ODOT employee spotted the wreckage of a 2000 Mazda Protege down a steep embankment off Old Highway 99 near the exit to Mt. Ashland ski area.

Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 20 near Burnt Woods in Lincoln County

OSP troopers from the Newport Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

(NEWPORT) - Fatal crash near Burnt Woods, Lincoln County 3-16-14 Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of the Lincoln County Crash Team, is continuing the investigation into Friday evening's two vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on Highway 20 at the entrance to Ellmaker State Park near Burnt Woods.

The crash resulted in the death of a 64-year old Springfield man.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash - Highway 199 near Selma in Josephine County

Witnesses on scene performed CPR until American Medical Response arrived to relieve them.

(PORTLAND) - fatal crash State Police say a motorcyclist died in a crash Saturday afternoon at approximately 5:30 p.m.

A 2008 Suzuki motorcycle operated by 47-year old James William Osborne of Grants Pass, was northbound on Highway 199 at Sauers Flat near milepost 25. Mr. Osborne was accompanied by his brother who was riding a separate motorcycle. As the motorcyclists entered a sweeping right hand curve from Sauers Flat, James Osborne lost control of his motorcycle and crossed into the oncoming southbound lane of travel.

(PORTLAND) - Hit and run Today, Wednesday March 12, 2014 at about 1:40 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to a call of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and discovered that the pedestrians had been hit by a vehicle which left the scene without exchanging information.

The pedestrians, a 71-year-old female and a 76-year-old female, were transported to an area hospital as a trauma injury...

Motorcycle Officer Rammed by Driver During Traffic Stop

Suspect Arrested, Officer Receives Minor Injury

(PORTLAND) - The driver, 34-year-old Robert Joseph Gilliam III On Wednesday March 5, 2014, at 4:55 p.m., a Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division officer stopped a 2003 Chevy Avalanche pickup at North Williams Avenue and Webster Street after the officer observed the driver speeding and running a red light at North Williams and Alberta Street.

The officer activated his emergency lights and sirens on his 2011 Kawasaki Police Motorcycle and the Avalanche turned onto Webster quickly and pulled to the curb. As the officer pulled in behind the Avalanche, the driver placed the Avalanche in reverse and accelerated towards the officer.

(DENVER) - Marijuana and driving A study by the University of Colorado Denver and Montana State University shows that laws legalizing Medical Marijuana have resulted in a nearly 9 percent drop in traffic deaths and a 5 percent reduction in beer sales.

28-year old Jared Lee Hoffman of Lynnwood, Wa is also suspected of having left another stolen vehicle near the gas station.

(PORTLAND, OR) - 28-year old Jared Lee Hoffman of Lynnwood, Wa A man is in custody after reportedly stealing a motorcycle while its owner was at a Wilsonville gas station.

The alleged thief and motorcycle were later being involved in a non-injury crash while attempting to elude police officers along Highway 99E near Gervais.
