Islam and Knowledge vs. Socialization

The very foundation of hegemony and empire lie in the public holding largely facile views of truths essential to the rulers.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Islam understanding 'On occasions, I feel Muslims ‘lose’ something when it comes to religion. I am speaking about the second last prophet Jesus or Isa (E-sa) peace be upon him... My general opinion of Muslims is that they tend to take on a facile view of Christianity ... I get the feeling that this may be because: If an increase in discussions by Muslims of Jesus (pbuh) were to take place, it would be percieved as “being Christian”.'

Interesting perspective, and along the lines which reduce to the following empiricism: Human beings in general don't tend to appreciate what is not part of one's own socialization.

(CLERMONT, Fla.) - Roosevelt “The Crusade for a Christian Military: Jesus Killed Mohammed” by Jeff Sharlet in HARPER’S May 2009 edition was a chilling clarion call regarding the entrenchment of Christian fundamentalism in the US military that began during the Cold War.

"Every time I hear that Israel is America's only friend in the Middle East, I remember that before Israel, America had no enemies in the Middle East." - Comment from a Jesuit

One place where the sympathies weren't clouded by the influence of the pro-Israeli lobby, were the news desks of our brother and sister journalists in the Middle east.

Reprise on Palestine, Israel and America: A Strategic Void

(JACKSON, Miss.) - Israeli Palestine conflict I’ve had a more diffuse and sometimes different reaction to the original article on this topic than I anticipated, although one I thought possible.

And while I don’t usually respond other than with brief replies to individual comments, I thought it useful at this point to address certain issues, both to encourage some to re-read the initial article, and to “clear the conceptual decks” before the second and third parts of the trilogy appear.
