Afghans See More Battles Between Gov`t Forces, Taliban in February

The restless Taliban outfit has carried out series of attacks since early February and the deadliest one took place in the eastern Kunar province on Feb. 23.

(KABUL Xinhua) - Afghan National Army soldiers take a break and eat a meal in Kabul. The conflict-ridden Afghanistan has witnessed a rise in Taliban-linked activities and government forces operations to dislodge militants from their hideouts.

They are trying to tighten security across the country before elections slated for April. 5

27 dead so far, officials say number could grow...

(YUNNAN PROVINCE) - At least 27 dead at Kunming Railway Station. A horrible event in China Saturday around 9 p.m. at the Kunming Railway Station in Yunnan province, left well over 100 people stabbed. Sadly, at least 27 people died, not a shot was fired.

There were multiple knife-wielding assailants according to Xinhua News, the attack happened at a train station in in southwestern China on Saturday.

Kerry, Rasmussen Expect Afghan Security Pact After Karzai Leaves

The election is set for April 5.

(WASHINGTON, DC Radio Free Europe/Rad) - John Kerry and Hamid Karzai John Kerry says the next president of Afghanistan will sign the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) that will provide for U.S. soldiers to remain in the country after this year.

Kerry said in Washington that if it wasn't for Afghan President Hamid Karzai, "we would be on a different track today."

NC Court Upholds Fake Terror Convictions

Laila Yaghi remembers the horrible day in July 2009 when her son was taken away.

(BOSTON) - Ziyad Yaghi On February 11, 2014, a federal appeals court upheld the convictions of three young Muslim men from North Carolina: Omar Hassan, Hysen Sherifi and Ziyad Yaghi.

The three were convicted in 2011 after two paid FBI informants falsely testified that they were part of a home-grown terror group.

The SC commuted the death penalty of three assassins, Santhan, Murugan, the husband of Nalini and Perarivalan, to life imprisonment.

Nalini, Robert Pious, Jayakumar and Ravichandran were also released.
