Attacks in Syria Kill 28, Injure Hundreds (Photos)

Bombings caused significant damage to nearby buildings and cars, and the first explosion left a crater two meters deep

(ALEPPO/DAMASCUS - SANA) - The Ministry of Interior issued a statement on Friday, stating that after the escalation of instigation campaigns and foreign logistic and media support to armed terrorist groups, the city of Aleppo was the target of two terrorist bombings on Friday morning.

The acts were carried out by two suicide bombers in cars, martyring 28 and injuring 235 including military personnel, civilians and children, some of which are in critical conditions.

(CAIRO) - Protesters chant anti-government slogans during a protest condemning the death of soccer fans at Port Said stadium, near the Interior Ministry in Cairo, 2 Feb. State media reported renewed scuffles between security forces and demonstrators- including hardcore soccer fans like the Ultras, who were on the frontlines of last year's protests against the military.

The Ultras played a prominent role with anti-government activists in the uprising that toppled president Hosni Mubarak a year ago.
