Jaffna University Tamil Students Boycott Classes

Students at Jaffna University in northern Sri Lanka have started a two-day boycott of classes after clashes with security forces on Wednesday.

(COLOMBO) - The campus was the scene of the worst political disturbances since the war ended in 2009 They say they do not feel safe after several were beaten and injured in the worst political disturbances since the civil war ended in 2009.

Security forces entered the university, disrupting students marking a commemoration of dead rebel fighters.

A student was hospitalized for injuries after police attacked.

(JAFFNA, Sri Lanka) - Sri Lankan cops attack single Tamil student who is unarmed A protest was carried out by the students from the University of Jaffna today. The protest was organized after some security officials had entered the university premises and threatened two students there by displaying weapons yesterday.

Predictably, the police arrived to stop the protest.
