Three Willamette Bearcats to Play in All-Star Game in Mexico

(SALEM, Oregon) - Bearcats logo Three Willamette University football players have been selected to play for the NCAA Division III All-Star team that will take on the CONADEIP All-Stars from Mexico in the 2010 Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) on Saturday, Dec. 18 in Toluca, Mexico. The Willamette players are senior inside linebacker Ralph Pineda (Los Angeles, CA/Cathedral HS/San Jose State Univ.), senior defensive end Walter Robinson II (Altadena, CA/Cathedral HS) and senior wide receiver Scott Schoettgen (Columbia, CA/Sonora HS).

Snow Buckles and Collapses Roof of Metrodome

Nobody was hurt and it was all recorded on video...

(MINNEAPOLIS) - Metrodome It is nearly surreal; the roof of the Metrodome; as if in slow motion... gave way to the weight of snow early Monday morning.

Workers needed to be pulled off the roof late last night due to safety concerns, officials at the Metrodome report. Around 5:00 a.m. Monday, the roof deflated.

The UN says the Games will go on...

(GAZA CITY) - Scene from the 2010 Gaza games In the early hours of 23 May 2010, a group of approximately 30 armed and masked men attacked and set fire to an UNRWA Summer Games beach location. The attackers left a note threatening to take further action if the Summer Games were not called off.

Calling the incident "an attack on the happiness of children", UNRWA's Director of Operations in Gaza, John Ging, promised to quickly rebuild the location.
