Less than a month after Josh Beckett threw a no-hitter in Philadelphia, Kershaw made it 12 in Los Angeles Dodgers history (four by Koufax) and the 22nd in franchise history.

Oregon Women`s Soccer Schedule Announced

The Lady Ducks will open with the Badgers of the Big Ten on Aug. 22nd, meeting Wisconsin for the second straight season.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Oregon women's soccer Head coach Kat Mertz and the Oregon women’s soccer team have announced their 2014 schedule, which consists of 19 total matches.

UO’s schedule features 10 matches at Papé Field and seven contests slated to be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.

With the signing, Kopra is the fifth Corban baseball player to sign an MLB contract.

(Anaheim, Calif.) - Jacob Kopra The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced on Wednesday that the team has signed Corban University baseball standout Jacob Kopra (Gresham, Ore.) to a professional contract.

Kopra signs the contract as an undrafted free agent after missing out on being selected in the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Michael Conforto Michael Conforto has been named a First-Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association, becoming the first player in Oregon State history to be a consensus First-Team All-American.

Jace Fry was also named first-team on Wednesday, giving him five All-American honors – three first team – while Ben Wetzler was honored as a second teamer, with two of his five All-American honors coming as first team.

World Cup Attack in Nigeria Kills 13, Including Small Children

The Nigerian government has advised people to avoid gathering in public to watch the World Cup, concerned about potential attacks.

(ABUJA, Nigeria) - Nigeria Car Bomb At least 13 people were killed and 20 injured after a bomb tore through a venue in the northeast Nigerian town of Damaturu where fans had gathered to watch a World Cup match.

Some people at the scene told Reuters an attacker dropped a device in front of the venue on Tuesday night in the town of Damaturu and ran off, while others said it was the work of a suicide bomber.

Oregon State Baseball Players Honored Yet Again

Conforto was named a first-teamer while Fry and Wetzler were each selected to the second team.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Michael Conforto Oregon State juniors Michael Conforto and Jace Fry and senior Ben Wetzler have been honored by Perfect Game as 2014 All-Americans, it was announced on Tuesday.

Conforto and Wetzler are recent runners-up for the Dick Howser Trophy – given annually to the nation’s top player – while Conforto is a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award.
