(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - One of Dr. Robert Rappaport’s biggest "contributions" to the American people before the FDA announced his retirement was approval of an opioid called Zohydro ER.

Zohydro ER was the first hydrocodone-only opioid in doses of 5 to 10 times more heroin-like narcotic than Vicodin. The FDA disregarded their own Advisory Committee who voted 11-2 not to approve the opioid because of the Committee’s concerns about the potential impact on public health.

Six People Facing Charges in Connection with 2015 Homicide of Robert Huggins

Investigators said they may make additional arrests.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - In the evening hours of Wednesday April 27, 2016, Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives booked four people into jail in connection with the 2015 homicide of 56-year-old Robert Lee Huggins. Two other people were already in custody and are facing new charges.

Huggins' body was found by loggers just before 6 a.m on July 1, 2015, in the middle of an open field near Ridgefield, Washington.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - On April 22, 2016 at about 4:35AM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a three vehicle crash on Highway 18 near milepost 49 (one mile east of McMinnville).

A 2003 Dodge Durango was westbound on Highway 18 when it crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Astro van head-on. The Dodge then struck a 2005 Honda Civic which had been following the Chevrolet.

Denver DA Green Lights 1st Degree Murder?

The DA’s decision to ignore the conclusions of the Denver Police Department is outrageous.

(DENVER, Colo) - The Denver District Attorney’s office announced yesterday that no charges will be filed against “an off-duty Colorado Department of Corrections employee” who killed Victor Mendoza after provoking a conflict at the Colorado Motorcycle Expo on January 30th of this year.

“The Denver Police Department conducted hundreds of hours investigating the brawl and presented it to the district attorney’s office on Monday as a first-degree murder case.”

Salem Police Investigating Tuesday`s Fatal Traffic Crash

Sunnyside Road was closed for nearly four hours for the crash investigation.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Salem Police Traffic Control Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Tuesday morning in south Salem.

Arriving officers found two vehicles sitting in the roadway with the drivers of both vehicles trapped inside. Fire units were on scene and called for further resources to extricate the drivers from the vehicles.

I-84 was closed for 4 hours westbound and 9 hours eastbound, due to multiple crashes.

(BAKER COUNTY, Ore.) - Tuesday morning about 11:25, Oregon State Police Troopers (OSP) and emergency crews were dispatched to a roll over crash involving a commercial motor vehicle on Interstate 84, milepost 349 eastbound.

As emergency personnel were responding to the scene, a second crash involving two commercial motor vehicles, occurred at milepost 348 eastbound, killing a driver.

Fatal Crash Near Carlton Takes Three Lives

(CARLTON, Ore.) - Three people were killed and a 4-year-old child was critically injured in a crash on Highway 47 near Carlton early Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to Milepost 37 at 4:30 a.m. According to investigators, a northbound 1992 Honda Accord driven by 24-year old Teven Ray Stone, of Sheridan, drifted across the centerline into the path of an oncoming 2008 GMC pickup early Tuesday morning.

Double Murder Suspect in Custody

The fatal shootings happened in Jefferson County Friday night.

(JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ore.) - Two people were killed by gunshot Friday night, February 26. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office received the report of a shooting at about 6:49 p.m. that had just occurred on Sand Ridge Road in Crooked River Ranch.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office along with the Oregon State Police responded to the scene and found two adults deceased inside the residence.

Snake River Correctional Institution Reports Inmate Death

Oregon State Police Criminal Investigations Unit is conducting an investigation.

(ONTARIO, Ore.) - An Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) inmate died unexpectedly early Thursday morning at the Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., Thursday, February 25, staff responded to the cell where inmate 22-year old Michael Teves was assigned. Upon arrival, medical staff determined that he was deceased.
