Steven Hager Brings Abakus Magazine to Life at The Munchie Cup in Aspen

The cannabis “medibles” competition is a first for Aspen and Abakus, August 18-20th.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Abakus is a brand new magazine, edited by Steven Hager. Hager is well known for his Editor position at the lone voice for so many, for so long, High Times magazine. He began at High Times magazine in 1986 and was instrumental in transforming it into the most influential magazine of its time.

There are two annual events planned under the Abakus banner, starting with the Munchie Cup August 17-20th. The second event, The Aspen Cup, will debut in February, 2015.

(ALBANY, Ore. ) - A man living in the United States illegally, has been arrested while he was tending to a large scale marijuana grow operation in rural Linn County.

Linn County Sheriff's Bruce Riley said detectives determined that the suspect was living in, and tending to the marijuana grow site, which caused damage to the surrounding land, and to the local streams by the cutting of small trees and brush, depositing trash, and littering the area with chemicals and irrigation tubing.

Oregon Voters to Get Their Say on Recreational Marijuana

Oregon's proposal will come before voters just two years after they rejected a similar measure.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - An initiative seeking to legalize, tax and regulate recreational marijuana in Oregon has qualified for the November ballot, the state said on its website on Tuesday.

Only two U.S. states, Washington and Colorado, currently allow recreational marijuana, which remains illegal under federal law.
