Train Crashes Into Car on Tracks Killing Driver

Weather conditions or other factors causing this accident are still undetermined.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - fatal crash investigation A freight train hit a vehicle at a train crossing Saturday night in Clark County and pushed the car up to 3/4 of a mile before it was able to stop.

The driver was the vehicle was located deceased inside the vehicle. At this time the name of the deceased is not being released pending the notification of next of kin.

Ice and Freezing Fog Cause Multiple Vehicle Crash on I-5 Freeway

(HALSEY, Ore.) - Snowy roads Northbound Interstate 5 has reopened following the removal of several crashed vehicles with at least one injury, along a six-mile stretch of the freeway between the Harrisburg (Exit 209) and Sweet Home-Halsey (Exit 216) exits.

Freezing fog and subsequent icy conditions caused a semi truck and its trailer to jackknife across both northbound lanes I-5 about one mile south of the Halsey-Sweet Home interchange (Exit 216) just before 5:00 AM Sunday.

Several vehicles then crashed into the semi, closing northbound lanes.

Aumsville Man Dies in Late Night Crash

No specific road conditions or other factors are being attributed to this single-car accident.

(SALEM, Ore.) - fatal car accident A single car accident claimed the life of an Aumsville man early Sunday morning, just prior to 1:00 AM.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 6300 block of Culver Drive SE to investigate a single motor vehicle crash, and a short time after arrival on scene, Marion County Fire determined the lone occupant and driver of the vehicle was deceased.

Coquille Man Killed in Crash on Oregon Coast

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

(COQUILLE, Ore. ) - coast crash A Coquille-area man died Wednesday morning when his car drove across the centerline and collided head-on with another vehicle on Highway 42 east of Coquille.

The other driver received non-life threatening injuries in the crash that closed the highway about two hours.

Silverton Teen Killed in Single Car Crash

Marion County Sheriff's Office investigators say it appears speed and slick road conditions were factors in the crash.

(SILVERTON, Ore. ) - fatal crash image A Silverton, Oregon teen was killed Thanksgiving morning in a single car crash.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Silverton Fire Department responded to the report of a crash in the 18300 block of North Abiqua Road NE just after 2:00 AM. When crews arrived they found a 1994 Honda Civic had left the road and struck a large tree near the bank of Abiqua Creek.

Salem Woman Dies in Crash Near Klamath Falls

Marlene Ramsdell of Salem was pronounced deceased at the scene.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Semi truck involved in the fatal crash, 11-20-07 A Salem-area woman died early Tuesday morning when her vehicle was struck by a commercial truck while attempting to drive from the highway shoulder onto Highway 97 north of Klamath Falls.

Lieutenant Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police say that just before 1:00 AM this morning, a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by 47-year old Marlene C. Ramsdell of Salem, was southbound on Highway 97 near milepost 270 when, for an unknown reason, it turned left into an Oregon Motel 8 parking lot and made a u-turn, stopping on the edge of the highway.

Elderly Rickreall Man Killed in Friday Morning Crash

Oregon State Police troopers from the Salem Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

(DALLAS, Ore.) - fatal crash An elderly Rickreall-area man died and two other people were injured Friday morning during a two-vehicle crash on Highway 223 at the intersection with Rickreall Road about three miles east of Dallas.

Police say that at approximately 8:00 AM, a 2000 Ford Focus driven by 81-year old Patrick Mason Shellito of Rickreall, was stopped on Rickreall Road at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 223.

Car Smashes Into West Linn Home (PHOTOS)

The crash also caused a brief power outage.

(WEST LINN, Ore.) - crash A vehicle with two occupants crashed into a home at 655 S. Rosemont Road in West Linn today around 3:30 PM. Clackamas Sheriff Spokesman Jim Strovink says a Portland General Electric power pole was also struck and compromised as result of this crash.

He says emergency agencies headed for the scene, possibly expecting the worst. Instead, both people in the vehicle received only minor injuries.

Fog Leads to Multi Car Fatal Crash Near Oregon/California Border

Fog is blamed for the crash that is said to have involved 14 vehicles.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Oregon State Police are on the scene of a fatal traffic crash on Highway 97 about 6 miles north of the Oregon/California border, south of Klamath Falls.

Oregon State Police troopers on scene report one confirmed fatality, eight other people involved in the crash were transported by Klamath area emergency responders to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Albany Bicyclist Killed Sunday

Investigators are not sure why the 65-year old Albany resident veered into the path of an oncoming car.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Albany Police car door logo An Albany woman was killed Sunday afternoon when she turned her bicycle into the path of a car on Seven Mile Lane near the intersection of Three Lakes Road south of Albany.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says that at approximately 2:50 PM Sunday, 65-year old Laneve Yvonne Johnson was traveling eastbound on Seven Mile Lane along with her husband, Barry Johnson, who was also on a bicycle.
