(SALEM, Ore.) - NOAA Radar Image pacific northwest A damp Halloween for the Willamette Valley with large breaking waves headed for the south Oregon Coast.

"Very Strong Storm Near The Gulf Of Alaska Is Generating Large Swells That Are Forecast To Arrive At The South Oregon Coast By Monday Night. The Surf Zone Will Become Hazardous With Large Breaking Waves Around 30 Feet Early Tuesday Morning Through Tuesday Night. Dangerous Waves Will Impact The Coastline Resulting In Deadly Rip Currents. West Facing Beaches Will Experience The Worst Conditions. The Surf Zone Will Become Less Hazardous By Wednesday Morning.

Coast Guard Captain of the Port Reopens Multiple River Bars

ODFW Biologist Killed in Traffic Crash on Highway 20 Near Toledo

(TOLEDO, Ore.) - ODFW employee Tamara Elizabeth Wagner Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Monday afternoon's fatal traffic crash that occurred on Highway 20 at the intersection of Highway 229 in the Toledo area.

The crash, which was witnessed by an on-duty Toledo police officer, resulted in the death of an Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife (ODFW) wildlife biologist.

Creatures Creep Back to the Oregon Coast Aquarium

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - A ghoul juggles eyeballs at Creatures of the Night Photo by Cindy Hanson After a one-year hiatus, the Oregon Coast Aquarium’s annual Halloween event, “Creatures of the Night,” will creep back into the Aquarium with a slightly different format. There will be a gentler event during the day for younger goblins during “Creatures of the Day,” with face painting, games and candy from 10 am – 4 pm. The Aquarium will then close its doors from 4 to 6:30 pm and quietly mutate into an ominous landscape with haunted caves and foggy courtyards summoning the more fearless ghouls for the annual soiree of the sinister, “Creatures of the Night” from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Saturday, October 30.

Coast Guard evacuates crewman from fish processing vessel, Coos Bay

(COOS BAY, Ore.) - HH-65 Dolphin Helicoptor The Coast Guard medically evacuated an injured crewman from a fish processing vessel that was 40 miles southwest of Coos Bay, Ore. at approximately 12:10 a.m., Friday.

The Coast Guard was notified 11 p.m., Thursday that Mamadou Konato, a 46-year-old male, had injured his hand in machinery while working on the 276-foot fish processor Pacific Glacier.

(SEATTLE) - 47 foot rescue boat stationed at Coast Guard Station Tillamook The Coast Guard rescued two people after their fishing vessel capsized crossing the Tillamook, Ore., entrance bar, Sunday.

The 56-foot fishing vessel, Double Eagle, contacted Coast Guard Station Tillamook Bay via VHF radio channel 16, notifying the Coast Guard of its intent to cross the Tillamook Bar at 5:30 p.m.
