When Did I Become the Senior Dad?

Now that I am the senior dad in the family, I'll reinforce tradition, establish others, try and be the best patriarchal figure I can be for my sons and my lovely bride of just one year

(AGOURA HILLS, Calif.) - Head of the table While walking with a friend the day after Thanksgiving, we shared our respective holiday experiences and noted that we were both now the senior dads--the main paternal figure in our respective families.

We laughed together, but it was a moment of melancholy and reflection, both of which were feelings I had this Thanksgiving.

Much Ado About Nothing

Nothing can really be everything.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - Strawberry Fields Forever We were sitting on a park bench watching the joggers go by when my friend remarked: “You know, all these people who jog, go to the gym, eat granola, don’t drink and don’t smoke, are going to be mighty embarrassed one day when they are lying in a hospital bed dying of nothing in particular.”

After I finished laughing, I was intrigued by the topic of “nothing” and decided to check (through the wonder of computer technology) my research notes, only to discover that “nothing” covers “everything”.

Bluegrass in Oregon (VIDEO)

The 3rd monthly Eastside Bluegrass Concert Series was held at the Freedom Foursquare Church Auditorium in Portland, Oregon.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Sometimes I just need to take a break from all the memorial pictures and do something else. I did that over the weekend, and had a really good time seeing old friends and listening to music that is tied to the fabric of this country.

Most of the time when I meet Patriot Guard Riders out on missions to honor our and escort our country's heroes, my contact is limited during the duration of the mission and then sometimes I get to meet some outside of that.

Get to the Hult this weekend, because Broadway is being escorted in by the Rat Pack.

It’s an all-day late-into-the-night, music festival on the Polo Fields at Golden Gate Park. There are multiple acts performing simultaneously on several stages throughout the festival grounds.
