Salem Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

The crash caused both vehicles to catch on fire.

(DETROIT OR) - Fatal motorcycle crash near Salem, Oregon 7-6-2013 A Salem man died when his motorcycle collided with a pickup on Brietenbush Road (Road 46) 16 miles North East of Detroit Oregon.

Marion County Deputies were called to the scene at about 6:00pm on Friday July 5th.

Upon arrival, they found that the driver of a 2009 Yamaha Motorcycle had collided with 1999 Toyota Tacoma Pickup.

(WASHINGTON DC) - Motorcycles on highway On June 18, U.S. Reps. Mike Capuano (D-Mass.) and Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) introduced H.R. 2414, the Black Box Privacy Protection Act.

The bill will protect motorcyclists’ rights by requiring manufacturers to prominently disclose to consumers if an event data recorder (commonly known as a black box) is installed on their motorcycle, the data collection capabilities of such a device, and how such data may be used.

Motorcyclist Struck by Car

A motorcyclist was seriously injured and transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.

(EUGENE OR) - Scene where car struck motorcyclist in Oregon, 19 June 2013 A driver struck and seriously injured a man Wednesday morning along the southbound shoulder of Interstate 5 underneath the Harlow Road overpass in Eugene/Springfield area, and was cited by Oregon State Police (OSP) following an investigation.

The man was struck by a car that had traveled onto a portion of the shoulder as he walked near his stopped motorcycle. The driver of the vehicle was cited by OSP for Failure to Drive Within a Lane.
