Stolen Car Pursuit and Arrests Leaves Two Police Cars Damaged

The suspects arrested may be connected to a rash of commercial burglaries in Milwaukie.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore.) - Milwakie, Oregon commercial burglary and stolen car suspects Kevin Michael Lasiter and Robert Lee Wingfield Police say a fleeing van tried to ram police vehicles during a chase in Milwaukie early this morning, and actually caused minor damage to one of the vehicles after striking it.

Another police vehicle's tires were damaged after running over spike strips, which were placed in an attempt to stop the pursuit, according to Officer Kevin Krebs, a Spokesman for Milwaukie Police.

Robbery Suspect Had Just Been Released From Jail

Police arrest a robbery suspect hours after she was released from jail on another crime.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore.) - 21-year old Kelly Jayne Hogan of Milwaukie Milwaukie Police responded to a robbery at the Washington Mutual Bank in the 10900 block of SE 21st Monday. A female suspect had robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money at 1:00 PM.

Police say the suspect was apprehended at 1:53 PM, walking down SE Harrison. Kevin Krebs with Milwaukie Police, says 21-year old Kelly Jayne Hogan of Milwaukie had just been released from the Clackamas County jail at 11:00 AM on charges of burglary and theft of a business in which she was a former employee.

Police Seek Convenience Store Suspect Who Fired Gun During Robbery

Police are looking for the suspect, they say he is a white male, 18-20 years old, five foot six inches tall, clean-shaven with a thin build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore.) - Robbery assault The 47-year-old store clerk in Milwaukie was robbed by a man while taking out the trash Saturday night just before 11:00 PM.

Police say he was confronted near the front of the store by the suspect who was brandishing a handgun. It happened at a convenience store in the 8900 block of SE 42nd.

Oregon State Police Rescue Man Clinging to River Buoy

The man reportedly had a core body temperature of 92 degrees upon is arrival at the hospital.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore. ) - osp buoy rescue A Tualatin man was rescued Thursday afternoon by Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife officers and a US Fisheries agent when they spotted the exhausted, hypothermic man attempting to cling to a buoy in the middle of the Willamette River near Elk Rock Island in the Milwaukie-area.

At approximately 12:25 PM OSP Sergent Chris Allori, Senior Trooper Roger Edwards and a US fisheries agent were conducting a routine fisheries patrol on the Willamette River near Elk Rock Island.

While operating the boat upstream, Sergeant Allori spotted a man in the water who appeared to be trying to grab ahold of a buoy in the middle of the river.

Police Asking for Help in Locating Shooting Suspect

The shooting victim, Justin Warren, remains in critical condition at OHSU.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore. ) - Phillip Anh Tran Detectives of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office are releasing the name of the suspect in the shooting at 15037 SE McLoughlin Blvd, Milwaukie, Oregon that has left a man in critical condition.

Investigators are actively looking for 25-year-old Phillip Anh Tran.

Tran is 5'7" tall and 145 lbs.

Milwaukie Man Wins $182.7 Million Powerball® Jackpot

When asked about his future plans, the winner said travel was at the top of the list.

(SALEM) - Oregon lottery building One sleepless night after learning he was holding the winning $182.7 million Powerball® jackpot ticket, Daniel Gannon of Milwaukie claimed his prize today at the Lottery office in Salem.

Gannon, 60, matched all five numbers and the power ball number in Saturday's multi-state Powerball lottery game to win the $182.7 million jackpot.

Gannon purchased the ticket at the Safeway on SE McLoughlin in Milwaukie on Friday.

Man Playing Basketball Involved in Fatal Crash in Milwaukie

No citations were issued with the vehicle involved, and this tragedy is considered by investigators to be an unfortunate accident.

(OREGON CITY) - Investigation on Roots Road Investigators with Clackamas County say 33-year old Gary Elliott Battin was playing basketball with a relative in the driveway of a home he was visiting in Milwaulke when he chased the ball into the street and ran into a trailer being towed by a westboud pickup on Roots Road.

Governor Orders Flags to be Flown at Half-Staff in Memory of Oregon Soldier

Flags to be flown at half-staff on Thursday in honor of Specialist Robert L. Jones.

(SALEM) - Flag at half mast Governor Kulongoski has ordered all flags at public institutions to be flown at half-staff on Thursday, in memory of 22-year-old Army Specialist Robert L. Jones, of Milwaukie, Oregon.

Specialist Jones was assigned to the Army's 40th Engineer Battalion of Baumholder, Germany. He was killed on June 17, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Ar Ramadi, Iraq. This was the second tour of duty in Iraq for Specialist Jones.

"The loss of this young leader is a tragedy for Oregon," said Governor Kulongoski. "Jones was a very brave soldier and we feel tremendous gratitude for his dedication and sacrifices he and his family have made to keep us safe.

Another Oregon Soldier Killed in Iraq

(MILWAUKIE AP) - flag at half mast A 22-year-old soldier from Milwaukie is dead, after a mortar explosion in Iraq.

Army Specialist Robert Jones was killed Friday in an ambush while on foot patrol in Baghdad, according to family friends.

A 2002 graduate of Rex Putnam High School, Jones was on his second tour of duty in Iraq.

According to his father, Jones sent him a Father's Day card that arrived Thursday, sending his love, and wishing his father a happy holiday.
