Groups to Protest ICE Program that Divides Families and Threatens Community Security

March and Rally calls for end to ICE program that divides families, it happens today at 4:30 p.m.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Immigration rally CAUSA Oregon will conduct a joint demonstration with Rural Organizing Project (ROP) and SEIU Local 503 OPEU outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office in Portland. During a march and rally, members of the groups will call for an end to a program that threatens community safety and security.

Started in October 2008, "Secure Communities" is a national immigration program that targets non-citizens who are arrested by the police.

19 Patients Slaughtered in Mexican Rehab Facility

Nineteen people murdered by gunfire; it is a record of sorts, but not the kind a nation wants to hold.

(CHIHUAHUA / SALEM) - Patients in a Chihuahua rehab facility systematically murdered Sunday by gunmen. It took a large group of armed gunmen about ten minutes to shoot 19 hospital patients to death Sunday in Chihuahua.

Mexico's Coordinated Operation Chihuahua released a press release over the weekend, stating that representatives of three levels of government met in special session to mark the tragic events that occurred the night of 10 June, when 19 people in a rehabilitation center were murdered.
