Medical Marijuana and the Monstrous Marijuana Doctor from Molalla
Dr. Phil Leveque Salem-News.com
PTSD cares not about its victims, anguish and/or depression the ongoing result.
(MOLALLA, Ore.) -
After Medical Marijuana was legalized in Oregon in 1998, I breathed a sigh of relief – now the Feds will quit harassing us. I knew many people were using it for legitimate medical reasons and why not. It works better and is cheaper than almost any pharmaceutical prescription.
My elation was short-lived and the specter of Devil Weed and Reefer Madness reared its ugly head.

Americans are increasingly discovering that one of the best, most effective medicines for a surprising range of ailments, is none other than cannabis, the notorious weed that is officially known as marijuana.
In the beginning it was about getting this plant off the market so that synthetic rope and other newly developed goods made in noxious, smoke belching factories, could take its place.

Veteran Suicides: Deployed for Destruction
Dr. Phil Leveque Salem-News.com
If this story isn’t a condemnation of the Army’s Infantry philosophy I can’t imagine what is.
(MOLALLA, Ore.) -
I argued with myself about reading the heartbreaking story in The Oregonian headline August 28, 2011 Deployed Against Suicide which was a story about the suicide of Matthew Brennan, an Oregon National Guard Iraq War PTSD victim.
The Oregonian did a superb job of showing what destruction the American Army does to its young soldiers. His story is typical and should reflect badly on the “system” if they really have one.

About the worst feature of the discussion is the high suicide rate of those soldiers seeking to attain or maintain alpha status.

The first written record of PTSD was from a physician in an Egyptian Pharaohs Army in 2500 BC who described it as “hysterical reaction to battle”. That sounds about right and PTSD continues long afterwards. Some WWII Vets still have PTSD some 65 years later. I am one of them.

DEA Digging In
Bill Piper for Salem-News.com
Let’s demand that the federal government make drug policies based in sanity, not fear and hysteria.
(TRENTON, N.J.) -
Recently, the DEA issued a ludicrously false statement claiming that marijuana "has no accepted medical use in the United States and lacks an acceptable level of safety for use even under medical supervision."
Since when is law enforcement qualified to issue medical opinions? What's worse, the DEA's stance makes them an obstacle to sound scientific research.
