(LONDON) - After being swamped with phone calls and a threat of an occupation, the authorities at the Park Royal Mental Health Centre have released incarcerated “thought criminal” David Compan, an ITCCS activist.

“They were going to hold him for 'examination' for at least 28 days, but now suddenly he's free” explained Rhianne Mockridge, ITCCS organizer in Coventry, England and a friend of David.

BBC News: Afghanistan Taliban `Confident of Victory` Over NATO

Earlier, the US National Intelligence Estimate predicted Afghanistan would descend into chaos if Kabul failed to sign a Bilateral Security Agreement with Washington, which would keep a contingent of US troops in the country after 2014.

(LONDON) - A spokesman for the Afghan Taliban has said it is "confident of victory" over NATO-led forces and already controls large areas of the country.

Interviewed by the BBC's John Simpson, Zabiullah Mujahed said in remote parts it was "everywhere", and foreign troops were scared to leave their bases.

BBC: David Cameron `Breached Protocol` in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's government has accused David Cameron of breaching protocol on his visit to the country, during which he raised concerns over alleged human rights abuses against Tamils.

(LONDON) - A senior source told the BBC that the prime minister had "brushed aside" an official and had failed to acknowledge a dance reception. They added that they "expected better". But Mr Cameron told MPs on Monday that his visit had succeeded in raising awareness of human rights issues.
