(UGANDA) - Omar Mukhtar To some of us, the revolution that is spreading like a bushfire in North Africa and elsewhere in the Arab world including the Horn of Africa might have lost its appeal as a juicy news.

Yet,to people who always maintain a sense of history, the uprisings that sparked off in Tunisia and got transmitted to Egypt after rubbing some of its flame on Algeria before it crossed to the Arabian land in Yemen and Bahrain only to be back again to rock the establishment in Libya, remain an interesting phenomenon to be scrutinized.

In a fashion very reminiscent of how the Israeli Occupying Forces behaved during Cast Lead, ambulances and EMT's, Red Crescent and other human rights representatives were not allowed to enter areas where wounded were located.

It has also been confirmed that a small number of Libyan Security forces have defected in support of the people (Update: Unconfirmed claim that 150 defecting military killed by loyal troops).

(ISTANBUL) - Muammar Gaddafi Nearly 25 years ago, U.S. air strikes on Libya killed 41 people in Tripoli and Benghazi, including the adopted daughter of Muammar Gaddafi, in what Noam Chomsky has referred to as the “major single terrorist act” of 1986.

In 2009, Gaddafi himself posed the question: "What’s the difference between the U.S. airstrikes on our homes and [Osama] bin Laden’s actions?”

Wondering how this all came about? The Libyan people are done with corruption.

(LOS ANGELES) - Libya Two days ahead of calls to protest the Gaddafi regime in a “Day of Rage” on February 17, members of the Committee of the Families of the Victims of the Abu Salim Massacre came out to protest.

Libyan attorney and human rights activist Fathi Terbil, who represents families that had family members massacred in mass prison killings that took place at the Abu Salim prison in 1996, was arrested. Terbil’s arrest led to an eruption of protests ahead of the planned “Day of Rage”.

Seven UK aid workers, who were planning to take aid to Gaza, are among a group believed to be being held captive on a ship in the Libyan sea.

10 Aid Workers Held Hostage on Greek Owned Ship

Two of the individuals are survivors of the Mavi Marmara incident last May; the situation arose from ship owner argument with agent.

(DERNA PORT, Libya) - Strofades IV "Strofades IV" has broken its moorings, without port permission, and is heading out of Derna Harbour. The rear door of the ship is half closed, with convoy vehicle B7 stuck on it precariously. It is extremely dangerous.

The violent Greek owner who is also its captain of "Strofades IV" has just disembarked (as at 22.50 GMT) through a side door of the ship, onto a speed boat.
