What Happened in Geneva?

Did France object to its partners (Iran says most of the time in Geneva was spent on discussions between themselves) who then changed their original draft agreement (which Iran was prepared to sign) to something Iran would not sign?

(PORTLAND, OR) - John Kerry in Geneva Below is just one sample of the contradictory media narratives of what happened at the Geneva negotiation between five of the nuke powers (plus Germany) and Iran.

Everyone assumed they were going to be just between the US (and its noisy “strategic partner, Israel) and Iran, but then came the news that France was the obstacle to at least a preliminary deal.

The Age of Deception

The revolution Orwell endeared his generations of readers toward is next to impossible when reality is brought to the public mind wrapped in layers of deception, like an onion.

(LOS ANGELES) - Orwell George Orwell observed that: In the age of universal deceit to tell the truth is a revolutionary act. I would humbly like to trump that truism with an even greater one: In the age of universal deceit, to learn the truth is a revolutionary act!

One of the former directors of the CIA responsible for counter-insurgency operations in the United States, from 1954-1974, and under whose watch all the prominent assassinations of the 1960s transpired, James Jesus Angleton, is reported to have observed two additional universal truths...

Irina Bokova Regrets Loss of US Voting Rights

Universality is critical to UNESCO’s mission, to achieving the ambitions that have guided the Organization since 1945.

(GENEVA) - Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director-General Legislation from the 1990s has prevented the United States of America from paying dues to UNESCO since the Organization voted to admit Palestine in 2011.

Member States that do not pay dues for two years lose their right to vote in UNESCO’s General Conference. That rule came into effect for the United States today.

Slip-Sliding Away: American Jewish Support for Israel

…with Israel and the US increasingly at odds over the prospect of peace with the Palestinians, can Israel still count on the unconditional support of American Jews?

(LONDON Redress News & Analysis) - Jewish human rights activist “A large majority of Israelis, nearly four in five, believes Israel’s future is dependent on the country’s ties to American Jewry, a new poll of Israeli public opinion has found,” reports the Times of Israel. If the poll is accurate, then Israelis are in for a shock.

As we reported last month, a recent poll of American Jews by the Pew Research Centre confirms that American Jews are turning away from Israel...

The Price of Friendship

Disappointed because the US would not make war on another of Israel’s enemies, Israel is working on two fronts to destroy peace talks with Iran.

(JAMESTOWN, RI) - US support of Israel over Palestine The price of friendship is world resentment. This week two birds of feather were denied their voting rights in UNESCO, a cultural and scientific arm of the UN, for not paying their dues for the past 3 years because they did not like a vote taken by the a world body 3 years ago.

Palestine was granted UNESCO membership when over 107 nations supported Palestine’s membership into UNESCO, but once again the US and Israel stood in opposition to world opinion by voting against...

24 Hours to Stop a Catastrophe

As a U.S. citizen, I know something about the forcible displacement of indigenous peoples. My country was built on it. But now, as I watch it happen in my lifetime, the difference is that there’s something we can do about it. - Rabbi Alissa Wise. Jewish Voices for Peace

(NEW YORK CITY) - Bedouin children in the Negev In just a few days, the Israeli Knesset will debate the Prawer Plan, a proposal to forcibly remove over 40,000 Bedouin citizens of Israel from their ancestral homelands. But you can help stop this catastrophe.

If we can get 20,000 names saying No to Prawer within the next 24 hours, our partner on the ground, Avaaz.org, will hand-deliver our list to the Knesset.

Arafat`s Death - There`s Really No Mystery

I was convinced that Arafat was as good as dead before he died.

(LONDON) - Alan Hart conversing with Yassir Arafat For once Israel is telling a part of the truth. It was impossible for any of its own (Israeli-Jewish) agents to get into the rubble of Arafat’s compound to administer the poison that killed him.

But they didn’t need direct access. Israel’s role was to provide the radioactive polonium for one of its collaborators in Fatah’s leadership.

Human Rights Watch Criticizes Israel for Continual Killing of Gaza Civilians

Military targeting hardware in use today is deadly accurate. When Israel strikes hospitals and schools full of children, it is all very intentional.

(SACRAMENTO) - Children in Gaza killed during Israeli attack Just less than a year ago, I wrote the article, Dead Babies and the Latest News from 'Israeli Rights Watch', feeling incensed and sickened by the position Human Rights Watch (HRW) was taking over Israel's military aggression toward civilian victims in Gaza.

Israel regularly uses drones to attack civilians and the world ignores this behavior, essentially leaving Israel to govern its own warfare tactics, which it fails to do.

ISRAEL: The Real Problem With the Prisoner Release

The problem is not that Israel releases Palestinian prisoners, but how few it releases.

(TEL AVIV) - Freed Palestinian prisoner Khaled Al-Azraq greets a young family member Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth gives its readers a daily question, argued by two competing op-eds.

On Monday, the question had to do with the coming release of Palestinian prisoners as part of the government’s commitment to Secretary of State John Kerry. Journalist Merav Batito wrote in favor, while Hagai Segal was against freeing terrorists; readers were asked to vote on Facebook.

Soldiers Expose the Underside of Occupation During N. American Tour

Former Israeli combat soldiers are on a North American tour to promote their book of soldier testimonies, "Our Harsh Logic."

(BOSTON Ha'aretz) - Our Harsh Logic In an oak-paneled Harvard Law School hall, two former Israeli combat soldiers turned anti-occupation activists listened as a prominent professor compared their role to those of American soldiers of another era, the “Winter Investigation Soldiers” who spoke out against atrocities they saw or took part in during the Vietnam War.

“That you too were foot soldiers is part of what gives such moral gravity to this project,” said Janet Halley, a Harvard law professor, as she introduced the two young men...
