Two soldiers killed in Afghanistan served in the Army's 101st Airborne Division.
(WASHINGTON D.C.) -
The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
They died February 10th in Salerno, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near their vehicle.
The exhibition contains nearly 200 objects, dating back to as early as 1828.

In celebration of Lincoln's 200th birthday, the Library of Congress's With Malice Toward None: The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Exhibition will open at The California Museum in June 2009.
The prestigious exhibition will include Lincoln’s inaugural Bible, which President Obama also was sworn in on.

Today Oregon welcomed home Chief Warrant Officer-2 Joshua Tillery who was killed in late January in Iraq, and escorted his remains to Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
Q Madp of IraqWarHeroes.org photographed the somber event and said the turnout was much better than expected for a middle of the week event.
Joshua Tillery, an Army helicopter pilot from Oregon, was one of four soldiers killed in a helicopter crash January 26th 2009 in northern Iraq. 31-year old Joshua Tillery served under the command of the U.S. Army's well-known 10th Mountain Division.
A special guest shared the history of the beginnings of emergency medicine in the fire service and the role that the television series "Emergency!" played in that history.

The Keizer Fire District held its annual Firefighter Reception on Monday, January 19th 2009. Special guest Randolph Mantooth of the television show "Emergency!" delivered the keynote address. The ceremony introduced new recruits, swearing in of new Firefighters by Oregon State Fire Marshal Randy Simpson and the presentation of the District's service awards.
Mantooth is widely recognized for his portrayal of Los Angeles County Firefighter/Paramedic Johnny Gage in the popular 1970's era NBC Universal series "Emergency!"
The memorial service for Capt. Tennant was extensive and somber. People came out in icy cold weather to pay their respects for this officer who fell in the line of duty.

Captain Tom Tennant and Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Bill Hakim died Friday, December 12th, when an explosive device detonated at a Woodburn area bank.
Today, Captain Tom Tennant was laid to rest after a special memorial ceremony attended by hundreds. The two officers, along with Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell and a bank employee, were involved in the explosion. Chief Russell suffered serious injuries and the bank employee suffered minor injuries.
